"I love getting up in a morning and looking forward to going training, and being with Steve, I'll definitely be doing that. I could feel and see his ambition and I wanted to be part of it."

What we have to remember is Best remembers baldy the coach, but now its baldy the manager. After a month or two of losing games getting little service and not scoring you may see a different opinion from Best. We just have to remember that both Best and probably Murphy will start off praising blady for a while but if the team doesnt perform on the pitch and baldy is not improving things you will see less and less praise. In this regard I think we will have to be patient with what both are saying about baldy for a little while

To be fair all any of the new signings have heard so far is a pack of lies from the bald fat idiot.

We will have to wait until they realise he talks a load of lies.

I just wonder if the chicken farmers will start seeing through the scum bags lies soon.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the 'training's fantastic', yada yada 'great coach', blah blah blah 'love going to work in a morning'

Been listening to it for 18 months, means feck all, typical footballer waffle.

Bradley Orr on the otherhand, 'crossed a line'.

Probably the best signing we've made and none too spectacular. Decent sums it up.

Let's face it Yak is gone. Junior soon will be. Even Kean's not stupid enough to sign Modeste.

That leaves us with:

Slew - not good enough to make an impact and farmed out back down the leagues.

Goodwillie - decent finisher, shocking at everything else.

Gomes - talented player in his day but about 96 years old. Unlikely to make a big impact imo.

Rochina - talented but imo better in a deeper role.

And... that's about it.

So getting in a reliable, decent striker isn't a bad move. Thing is I still doubt that he'll set the world alight or be anything other than decent or useful, especially with coco still making the tactics and team selection. But in the shambles that we now are this isn't a move I'll loose sleep over.

I completely agree with you but I would like to see Rochina tried in some of the friendlys as the main striker. I just sometimes wonder - as I think his finishing is decent, technically very good and can beat a man (think his main weakness is tries to beat to many men, doesnt know when to release a pass ie his decision making). Might actually prove to be a handfull for a championship level defender. (hoping he learns a few things from Gomes).

Thanks. I'd like to see Rochina involved too but further back. Perhaps a creative central midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 or in the hole in a 4-4-1-1. I think he has a lot of talent but not sure leading the line is his forte.

With the right training I think Rochina could be good but with coco in charge we're probably going to be lumbered with a ball greedy show pony.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just caught up with this from the pre-season thread. Cryer saying no swelling. Good sign or bad sign?

Not good news. Hopefully he isn't out for long!

ACL bleeds causing swelling.

Posterior Cruciate Ligament is the ''hidden'' one in that the majority don't feel or hear a "popping" sensation in the knee after a PCL injury.

After a PCL injury, folk often think they only have a minor knee problem and try to go on with their usual activities. Swelling tends to develop some time later after the injury when furrther activity is attempted.

If Best has done a cruciate, it's likely to be his PCL.
