Signings to date are ok for where we are but let's not kid our selves. We aren't signing players that are of the quality that left or are leaving (Samba, Hoilett, Yakubu, Emerton, Nelsen, Nzonzi etc).

Murphy and Best are decent.

Nunes is another complete unknown and probably won't feature

Gomes - could be the new Hughes...or a Robbie Fowler

Silva probably won't sign

Simon could be a big player in this league IF the bald one picks him.

We still need another CB, LB and ball winning mid as well as a replacement for Hoilett (none of which seem to be on the agenda)

There are alot of championship teams that have teams as strong as ours (don't get me started on the manager) and that have more spending power.

Play offs look like the best the current squad could manage, though should be too good to go down again - even with Keanochio.

With regards to hoilett I dont think he needs "replacing" I think Vuckevic can do the job. With Hoilett I think his pace and trickery was brillliant to watch when its at our club and we have had nobody to do that since duff.

We had Bentley and Peds as wingers who did a decent job without any "flashy" fast players in our ranks, but the peds/bentley/cruz package worked, I think Simon and peds can be that championship wise but it is about having the striker who can finish the chances. The Yak could do that and IMO was the best finisher we had for a while and a shame we couldnt keep him. Who ever steps up as our main striker (if that moron plays with one up top again) have a big burden.

I think we only need EXPERIENCED Left back. Cover for centrel defence with Givet, Hanley, Dann(eugh), R Hanley(who I personally rate a lot), maybe other youth players we have plenty of cover but at full back we have, Orr, Henley- both better for the right side, Olsson who I expect to leave and is a winger without doubt, and Morris who is also a winger.

Henley can play both sides but is very raw and TBH I would rather him be fighting to push Orr out of the way for right back because Orr wasnt even deemed good enough for Qpr's first choice in the Championship

Also regards to Lowe (who is still young) he is an attacking midfielder From what I have seen of him through his career so far at rovers, I was actually very suprised he manadged to do any kind of job for us at left back because in the youth set up it was hit attacking ability that made him stand out for me, and at Oldham on his short term loan under Dickov he was played as an attaking mid and had a very good spell there IMO.

I quite like Orr the player - solid defensively and good going forward as well as strong, fairly quick and good at heading and crossing......and he started 29 games for QPR in their promotion season......I don't like the guy but I have absolutely no qualms about playing him as we need his experience.....he looked a bit sketchy in the first couple of games at first but most players do when joining a new team.

And yea hopefully Vukcevic stays and he can replace Hoilett's ability to run at defenders as I highly doubt Olsson will stay.....but maybe even Marcus Olsson and Fabio Nunes can also provide us with some directness to our play......I know Nunes is really unproven but he must have played in Portugal youth teams for a reason and it's not like they struggle to produce good players.....I don't think we'll see him too often but I think he will play a role.....although I thought that about Vukcevic and Rochina.

I'm hoping Kean just didn't want to use flair players in a relegation battle and didn't in the start of the season as he was more concerned with playing the senior players like Dunn, Roberts and Pedersen.....I still can't see Formica, Vukcevic and Rochina staying but you never know......if they are still here come deadline day then I will be incredibly nervous.

If we can get Mackie I think he would be a good signing if we played:

Vukcevic Rochina Mackie

---------------Best

I think Mackie in particular but even Vukcevic are experienced enough to give us cover for our full backs which was a big problem last season.

That would give Rochina a free role to do what he does best, and speaking of Best, he could provide the physical focal point in our attack.

Whilst I would think that 4 would rip apart the Championship I doubt it will happen for many reasons.

Murphy and some legs alongside him in behind and our side on paper, before taking into account the clown managing them, would tear the division apart.

That would then leave us the likes of Dunn, Gomes, Goodwillie, Formica, Nunes, Pedersen and Marcus Olsson in reserve, Before sales.

Definatly! I think the most improtant part is who we partner Murphy with, N'zonzi im sure is gone, Silva is looking doubtful the more it drags on (but would be class)

Mdfield was a problem last season..........But the problem was some idoiot kept playing Dunn there!!!!

Thats the problem my main worry for next season despite who we sign is KEAN. And with the amount of attacking players we have signed and have been linked with I think he wants to play that diamond formation again.

Seriously how in FUQ us he still the manager!!!!/????? Why have venkys only started spending now when it looked like they were going to sell up!!!??

Mackail Smith for me would be a decent signing...vrry pacey and needs to be tested at a larger club than brighton.....

He is not doing that good at Brighton. But yes, not a bad shout to be honest, not a bad player. Not a prolific scorer, but does bring others into the game. Last season he played 44 and scored 10. Whereas his striker partner Ashley Barnes played 41 and scored 14.

To be fair, apart from Yak and Emerton, none of those players had real pre-Rovers pedigree.

The problem is we don't trust Kean and his team to unearth any gems - certainly not based on his transfer record to date.

I think Vukcevic will get his chance in the preseason and I really hope he prove all the doubters wrong, and especially the big doubter, numpty Kean.

Looking forward to see which players will take part against Macclesfield.

Also heard that both Martin Olsson and Morten Gamst is back training with the squad in pre season.

An apparent obsession with Portugese - we could end up with at least four of them !

Difficult for me not be be cynical about our dealings. Hmmm.

Cynical?

Well maybe the answer to all our Premier League return hopes, lies with the Portugese under 21 squad? Cynical - never.

This window already seems to be shaping up to be very lucrative for the owners of the club its just a pity to read some of our fans falling for it. So sad.

Whatever.....some can't get excited for transfers no matter who they are.......others still do regardless of all the other bullshit.......what is sad is constantly reading comments such as that.

"Do you like Steve Kean on a personal level though?"

"No he loves to antagonise our fans....."

Won't judge our transfers until it's time. It's inevitable that some of our better players leave when we drop down a division, but so far the efforts made to sign replacements have been positive. I think we're weakened so far and won't win promotion unless we sign more players, and I hope those running the club realise that in order to gain promotion our squad has to be stronger than the one that got us relegated the previous season.

Steve Kean is here to win games not to f**k around, I hope he proves me wrong but can see him sacked early on after bad results.

IF and a big IF Adrien Silva signs, we mean business otherwise were just like every other champ side....

Can we get Mackie and keep Olsson and Robinson then were contenders for the top.

What about Zdenek Grygera on a free transfer, has played for Ajax and Juventus and is only 32 years old, a versatile defender who can play at right back. Would be a good move.

Maths was never his strong point - Yak, Hoilett and Nzonzi - I make that three to start. Olsson has said he wants to go, Givet is disputing his contract, Dann is being lined up by a number of clubs and I doubt we will keep Robinson.

Personally I can easily see six or seven leaving - the guy needs to learn to think before he speaks.

Well wait and see how many leave before you judge that particular comment. So far we have had two important players leave, but doesn't really even count as he was out of contract.

Do you think the people running the club , actually care what happens on the pitch ??

Cos after last season , I am bloody sure they don't!
