Roverall Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I see that Rovers are coming to Ireland to play Cork City on the 12th of August. Anyone up for joining me in giving Steve Kean a warm Irish welcome? Am up for a good protest on home soil.

To Adam: Hi Steve/Paul/Shebby/fat guy with specs To: Randy: Hope to be back then. Not Irish but have a son in Dublin so going to plan a visit. Not sure about a protest - may be into too many Guiness to be much use.

Glenn Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Well, St Pats and Bray (twice) were brilliant pre-seasons, so it'll be rude not to. Monday already booked off, better half now sorting flights and hotels. See you all there.
Gav Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Under any other circumstances we'd have been there, but no chance under that muppet.
Roverall Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Sorry but I'm more than happy to hassle Steve Kean and his cronies every minute of every match he remains in charge of Blackburn Rovers. I've gone to considerable expense to attend protests in Blackburn so I'm hardly going to not bother when he's on my doorstep.

Best bet is to get him drunk, talking, and have a smartphone waiting to record. Press him on his opinions of Mrs D.

Rubbish. Kean still has a debt to pay - his head on a plate. For inflicting utter misery on Rovers fans for the last 2 seasons. Until that debt is paid, the protests have to continue. Sure, we are attracting some 'decent' players, but they are 35 year olds. They are coming to squeeze out the last of their careers on a half decent wage. Don't forget we are only in the championship because of Keans lack of any managerial ability whatsoever, and were it not for him, we would still be in the top flight and would be attracting much much more long term talent. Wish I could be there. Last time I was in Cork was in 1983. I still remember the locals referring to it as "Cahhhhk"..
Roverall Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 So - who is coming over to Cork? Looking forward to giving Kean heaps of abuse.
Glenn Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 So - who is coming over to Cork? Looking forward to giving Kean heaps of abuse. me ! So - who is coming over to Cork? Looking forward to giving Kean heaps of abuse. me. Are you able to recommend a pre/post match pub?
Roverall Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I live in Dublin so am not that familiar with Cork - but the Turner's Cross Tavern sounds a good bet! Kick-off is now 2 P.M. What time you heading to Cork, Glenn?
Brfcrule1 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Or better still maybe someone in Ireland can really spike his drink!. Abs I wondered where you had got to you still up for kidnapping the prize clown and throwing him, shagnew & wankys off darwen tower when they get back from their ######-up in Ireland!.
Glenn Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'll be arriving Sat evening (seemed the only viable flight, but I'd much rather have had the full weekend there)
m1st Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Would LOVE to be there [i've friends who live in Ballinlough], but have to go to a wedding the following weekend & can't afford both trips. :-(
irish rover Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 There are two or three pubs right around the corner from the stadium including the turners cross tavern. The team are staying at fota island resort 15 mins outside of city, could be worth a visit to meet some of the players, staff!!
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Will be there with the compulsory "KEAN AMACH" banner. Coming down in the Saturday, nice long drive ahead
