I think you are overstating how good he was for us a bit. He was very good but not quite in the same bracket as Duff, RSC, McCarthy, Bellamy, Nelsen, Samba, Friedel, Tugay, Jansen imo.

Apart from friedel tugay and duff he was just as influential as the rest of those players.

He was fantastic for us I find it hard to even accept a case against that.

He rarely had a bad game and even when he did he was still capable of influencing the game in our favour

Totally and absolutely agree. An England regular when he left us (the mug!).

hat trick against united which was a life moment. pinpoint crosses. Thats where many of our goals came from. He was good which is why Spurs paid big bucks for him..

He was only as good as he was because of Bentley. The 2 of them were awesome together.
