Ricky Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 would be a good signing, never figured why he left Cardiff so cheaply after scoring a decent number of goals there.
Damien Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Seems to know where the back of the net is too! So we have goodwillie, best, Gomes and then we're looking at one more striker. I wouldn't consider any other player as a striker because players like Rochina would sit deeper! Would people be happy with this attacking four or five?
Sparky Marky Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 none of these strikers are proven in this league.....perhaps Best.
Ricky Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 What!! McCormack is clearly proven in this league! or are you saying that none of the strikers we have at the moment aren't proven at this level
1874 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 none of these strikers are proven in this league.....perhaps Best. Gomes has only scored in Portugal, Italy and a few Internationals so no chance against Championship defenders
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted July 14, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted July 14, 2012 none of these strikers are proven in this league.....perhaps Best. Are you having a tin bath lad?
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 None of the strikers we currently have are proven goalscorers at this level, even Best couldn't bang them in regularly at Championship level. McCormack seems to have a reasonable record but don't Leeds tend to play a 4-4-2? Rovers don't have the midfield to play that formation.
Waggy76 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Do not know much about McCormack, but cannot help thinking a centre half , left back and someone to kick the opposition in midfield are more important..Then again look who our manager is !
Sparky Marky Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Are you having a tin bath lad? Eh? would you say they are proven in this league then? Gomes has only scored in Portugal, Italy and a few Internationals so no chance against Championship defenders and if he still could, why on earth is he signing for us?
HemelRover Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Eh? would you say they are proven in this league then? and if he still could, why on earth is he signing for us? So, your saying only buy players that have a proven track record in the Championship? Apart from maybe Best, and McCormack(19 goals last season) And I dont get your point about Gomes. So he isnt good enough to play in top leagues in Portugal or Italy any more. So he has slipped a level below those top leagues? Good, that will surely suit the Championship then. Unless your saying that the Championship is on a par with Seria A and the Portugese Prem.
Sparky Marky Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I was merely respinding to a strike force of goodknob, best, gomes and rochina which Buckshaw Rover suggested....apart from Best(and I don't think hes proven really) none are proven or have experience in this league. Have we signed McCormack????
blueboy3333 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Messi isn't proven in the Championship so we should steer well clear if he becomes available.
Sparky Marky Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I like the comparison. Worlds best player or old washed up gomes.
HemelRover Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I was merely respinding to a strike force of goodknob, best, gomes and rochina which Buckshaw Rover suggested....apart from Best(and I don't think hes proven really) none are proven or have experience in this league. Have we signed McCormack???? Buckshaw: "So we have goodwillie, best, Gomes and then we're looking at one more striker. I wouldn't consider any other player as a striker because players like Rochina would sit deeper" So, seeing as we are in the McCormack thread, lets suppose that one more striker striker is McCormack. That would leave Goodwillie, Best, Gomes and McCormack of which you said.... "none of these strikers are proven in this league.....perhaps Best" Notice you said these. To me "these" means the 3 that Buckshaw mentioned and McCormack, seeing as we are in the McCormack thread. McCormack is proven in this league, and you concede that Best maybe.
Sparky Marky Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 and you're going a long way to discredit my opinion... Grow up. This is irrelevant whilst pillock is in charge.
Steve Moss Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Defenders please Do not know much about McCormack, but cannot help thinking a centre half , left back and someone to kick the opposition in midfield are more important..Then again look who our manager is ! +1
Relegation Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Kean signing 5 strikers to his 4-4-1-1 formation makes sense, considering what we have seen thus far
neophox Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 There's nothing in this....only a daft rumour Im afraid.
