chaddyrovers Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Replacement for Hoilett. Will play the right wing in 4-2-3-1 formation.
Ricky Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Top player in my opinion. Only got to see his record when he came back from injury.
Stuart Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Another attacking player?? Oh, wait it's Nicko. I guess "circumstances will change".
67splitscreen Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 He played right side for Hughes towards the back end of last season, looked dangerous against ourselves in the cup and the same when coming off the bench, could be a good signing, now where's those defenders, no good waiting until we lose one ... or two.
Ricky Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 He's no winger. He'd be a great addition up front though.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Goodwillie, Rochina, Formica, Best, Hoilett[at the moment]. How many 2nd strikers do we need?
Backroom Tom Posted July 16, 2012 Backroom Posted July 16, 2012 Another attacking player?? Oh, wait it's Nicko. I guess "circumstances will change". Pretty much Although Mackie is a quality player for this level The line about Hoilett confuses me, I'm not aware of all the ins and outs of young players out of contract and I know QPR would owe us compo if he went there but it wouldn't be as part of a trade surely as Juniors destination is in his hands not ours
T.J.Newton Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Id be suprised if Hughes let him go, seems very much like a hardworking determined hughes type player.
roverandout Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 all i see is a very ordinary player whose goalscoring record makes roberts look prolific.
Josh Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 all i see is a very ordinary player whose goalscoring record makes roberts look prolific. Do you ever shut up Mackie is a decent player, especially at this level. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he was one of the leading goalscorers in the Championship before Diouf came along
chaddyrovers Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 all i see is a very ordinary player whose goalscoring record makes roberts look prolific. Mr Negative!!!
roverandout Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 well its true, look at his goalscoring record, what can he bring us that we don't already have? 3.5 million? are they having a laugh?
Backroom Tom Posted July 16, 2012 Backroom Posted July 16, 2012 Do you ever shut up Mackie is a decent player, especially at this level. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he was one of the leading goalscorers in the Championship before Diouf came along In fairness Diouf had nothing to do with the injury, if anything it was Mackies fault for the way he jumped into the tackle with Givet
Uddersfelt Blue Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Yes it was a shocking challenge on Givet in which Mackie came off worse. Diouf was just being the idiot that he is.
hesfromburn Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I dont think diouf knew how bad mackie was injured he was first on the scene and thought Givet had been hurt, some players would have rushed to see if Givet was ok first but as we know thats just not Dioufs style.
Damien Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I have no problems with wha diouf did, no one knew mackies leg was broken all we did know is that he lunged into a challenge and could have sidelined givet! I too would have been shouting at him!
budha Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 The line about Hoilett confuses me, I'm not aware of all the ins and outs of young players out of contract and I know QPR would owe us compo if he went there but it wouldn't be as part of a trade surely as Juniors destination is in his hands not ours AFTER Junior chooses his club, the club needs to agree the compensation with us. If a solution can't be found, the tribunal sets the fee. So if Junior chooses QPR, we can negotiate his fee with QPR, which obviously can be a bag of training tops, a player, cash or any combination of these.
neophox Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Mackie would be a superb signing for the championship. Can't see him be a starter for QPR in Premier League though.
OJRovers Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 So he's a right-sided/central attacking midfielder... hardly our weakest position is it? Rochina, vukcevic, formica? Id prefer we got a proper footballer for the left winger, rather than Marcus Ollson.
roversR4ever Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 So he's a right-sided/central attacking midfielder... hardly our weakest position is it? Rochina, vukcevic, formica? Id prefer we got a proper footballer for the left winger, rather than Marcus Ollson. Unless of course Nunes is doing very well in training, one thing that does stand out with him is he does seem to be quite a tall and reasonably strong player. If he has pace then he stands a better chance of coping in the championship. Mind you I really wouldnt want to rely on a unknown youngster. Also we dont know yet what is going on with Martin Ollson. If he was persauded to stay I would rather look at a left back. First though I really want to see us get in a good strong mid alongside Murphy. That has to be a priority or we will get rolled over by a good number of the championship teams. We already know we wont have anyone suitable at the club with the current squad.
AJW Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Am i the only one that thinks £3.5m is a bit much though?
The Rover of Finland Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Am i the only one that thinks £3.5m is a bit much though? It´s Nicko´s story. Maybe he thinks it´s £50M budget again. Mackie is definetely a very good player this level.
