Nelsta Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 no, just an internet, wifi connection. you can plug an ethernet cable from you modem into your xbox and you're good to go. or if you have the black xbox, that has built in wifi so no need to buy a router. you will need to buy a subscription though, either monthly/yearley. you can but them throught the xbox live marketplace or from a game shop.
Baz Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Much cheaper to buy online than via Microsoft. They quite often have deals though so watch out for those £1month for 3 months and similar. If your not sure how much you will use, then just take a month / 3 months to begin with.
Blueboy Downunder Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 thanks lads.what would happen if i plugged my dongle straight into the back of the console? would it work?
Nelsta Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 it would yes, but not as straight forward as plugging it in, it's easy to set up though. here's a guide on what to do. http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk/blog/20080513490/connect-to-xbox-live-with-a-usb-3g-modem
