[Archived] BRFC Action Group Open Floor Meeting with Shebby Singh

Yeah, just to clarify for others who might be wondering, didn't he say that he wasn't paid by the club, but was paid by Venky's?

Maybe because to be employed by the club it has to be authorised by other people as well as Venkys?

I can only imagine that the owners were wishing it was 09.55 again and they could call Shebby and tell him not to do this.

Our club sways from crazy to bizarre on a weekly cycle, but this surreal two hours sets a new standard, and I cant fathom out what they hoped to gain from letting a loose canon free in front of 500 disgruntled fans.

Credit to BRAG for organising this.

Roll on three games into the season.....................

I said a week ago, that he shouldn't be doing things like this. There's the professional way, then there's Shebby's way. Has Shebby improved the situation with this q&a session, made no difference at all, or made things worse? You decide, because I know what I think.

IMO he's done this with one aim, - to get the fans onside. He said that more than once. You get the fans onside though, by being honest and by showing that you are capable of bringing the right changes. Threatening the manager publically with the sack, labelling current players as pensioners and taking over transfer policy is absolutely the wrong way to convince fans that you're the man for rovers.

You said it. All credit to Glen and Mark for actively going out there and trying to change things, it's commendable.

But Shebby? Blackburn Rovers used to be synonymous with 'class'. There isn't a shred of it left at Ewood Park anymore.

Did nobody else pick up on Shebby saying that he had been employed by Venky's in August of 2011.??

I could have swore he said that.

I think he did too. He was employed to do the Asia stuff - the preseason tournament that didnt happen in the end, and the academy which are happening.

He's now moved on to this. No doubt one of his main tasks is to get the fans back on side.

Will probably end up as just another Hong Kong video embarrassment, and then subsequently swept under the carpet.

The MGP comments were a disgrace by the way

I hadn't thought of that, maybe coco will try to sue shebby

this could end up like Apple corp

Just listened to my own recording of the meeting. Singh said "if we lose two games on the trot, three games definetly, definetly" - that is word for word. It was 12.33 seconds after he began speaking

I was really going of his body Language and what his eyes where saying in the video, there did seem to be a little somthing lost in translation, but when asked to confirm what he said his eyes lit up when he seen the possitive response he was getting from the crowd so just sgreed and went with it.

Nothings changed at the End of the Day(other than more negative and disruptive press about brfc), Time will tell, actions speak louder than words, (and various other cliches!).

I thought our clubs image couldn't get any worse!! This has taken us to a new low. My Wanderers mates will love this... yet another 'lets all laugh at the Rovers fan' night next time I go down the pub.

It was quite surreal being there and after a few minutes I thought I had mistakenly walked into the Comedy Club. Shebby Singh should be applauded first for doing what he did and facing the anger of many fans head on. His comments about Kean getting three games and his verbal assault on Pedersen could come back to haunt him. The three games comment is a complete misnomer. What if we draw the first three games or there is a combination of wins and defeats? Three draws would represent a poor start but in Shebby's world Kean would still be in job because we haven't lost them. That said, in a perverse way I warmed to the guy and I really can't make my mind up about the power he has. Before hearing him I thought he was just another villain in a cheap suit but he (in a roundabout way) went some way to convincing me that he can and will sack the slimeball.

He really was struggling with the question about the Venkys London registration and how even Government representatives have been ignored by Venkys. If Glen or anybody with regular access to Shebby could pursue that one it might get interesting.

I think the meeting went well, most people I spoke to at the meeting could not believe how open Shebby was, he gave answers on everything which he knew about ( he ain't gonna know everything he has only been in job for 6 weeks)

It's upto each supporter to make their own decision if they believe him or not , me personally does believe him. Why would he sit in a meeting in front of 11 different media outlets including sky and lie ? Exactly he wouldn't .

Lets judge him on the things he now does rather than the things he may or may have not said . Seems quite a few on here who was not present cannot wait to stick boot in , whilst some did go and have their own opinion

This was a massive step in what we have had before which was a wall of silence .

We will be putting the meeting out at some point , and hope people listen to it rather than make comments on second hand information

Put the video of the meeting out now and unedited which will nullify second hand comments.

What's it like sitting next to a chickens ass?

What was the Venkys London question?

I could well get this wrong as the question was put eloquently and by somebody who has a clear insight into the running of businesses. He asked Shebby who the directors of Venkys London were and he hadn't a clue. This has also been has been asked by Graeme Jones (MP for Hyndburn) and so far they haven't told them. This will now be addressed by the Minister for Sport with his Indian counterpart.

Surely the directors of Venky's London is public record and available to anyone with £1 and 5 spare mins? I'm sure Philipl named them on the podcast several times too?

I've pulled the records for ever rovers/Venky's/sem related company, so I probably have the list at home
