T.J.Newton Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 If Shebby gets rid of Kean very early this season then i couldn't give a toss about what he says or how he says as long as he follows up on his words with action, 'So what' if its seen as unprofessional, football tries to be to proper and PC but its bollards most people in the stands(at rovers anyways) aren't PC, its just a fake illusion that Sky&BBC try to create to keep the lefty middle classes watching games and paying their subscriptions, Shebbys comments represented what most local rovers fans i know think and say every day, it's an old school aproach-but thats personally what i prefer(reminds of the kind of things Brian Clough and the like would have come out with, love it) But he does have to follow up on his words.

den Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I think it's now fair to say... We have owners who know nothing about football, who didn't realise what a good set up they inherited and haven't a clue where to find, or how to replace the people they have either let go, or sacked. We have a football manager who had no experience or qualifications to manage a PL club. A manager who it's now becoming clear has no backing from the fans - or his manager who refuses to back him in public. It's also clear that the manager has had little, or indeed any say in transfers in or out of the club since he became manager. He's hasn't the guts to walk away because of that, but he has the guts to stand in front of almost the entire ground and face down their calls for him to go. It's clear to me that his only priority is himself. We now have a global advisor who, like the rest of them, has no experience or qualifications to run a football club. This [as Dave Birch has said "TV pundit from a third tier footballing nation"] is undoubtedly responsible for the transfers in and out of the club. He's been given the power to do what he wants, wherever he wants. ... and things are improving? Gentlemen, where do we go from here?
bypass06 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Shebby also stated, Any new manager would be able to bring his own coaching staff with him. So Black/Hendry/Bodyguard/Chauffeur should be on their way with Kean, As long as Shebby sticks to his word.
greco Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 It's almost certainly worthless though, that's the problem. If we take his statement literally all Kean needs is 1 point from the first 3 games and he could be safe forever for all we know. The same goes for 1point from the first 15 games provided that 1 point comes from the first 3 games! A far more general statement would have been so much more appropriate. There simply is a need for clarification on this matter. In the Epl we knew the target was 40 points, as that meant survival. I assume that the team and club had targets set throughout the season, but normally they wouldnt make those targets public knowledge. Well normal is a long gone state of mind when it comes to our club, with that in mind, perhaps shebby the mouthpiece would be glad, to tell us about the clubs targets and remove all doubt about his statement.

The 1st Division and I for one , would welcome it .If Kean and his paymasters whoever they maybe would just go !
Exiled in Toronto Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 A far more general statement would have been so much more appropriate. I'm not sure it would to be honest. "What does that mean?", "It's just a smokescreen", "We need specifics - if he loses the first 3 games, will you sack him, yes or no?" At least now we know it's one or the other. Not a great set of candidates obviously, but Shebby winning is a less worse outcome than Kean winning
Ferrit Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 This clown is so full of **** it's unbelievable. What's even more incredible is that people believe it. All this talk about 3 losses in a row and being out, results are all that matters etc etc... Well what about his record, is that not enough? This joker is here to appease the fans, nothing more, nothing less. If he had the power to get rid of Kean it would have already happened. Its a simple promise to make as even with the worst manager in history and a poor squad even a this level, chances are we won't lose our first 3 games, or indeed 3 games in a row throughout the season.

Possibly, but where did they ever give a sh!t about appeasing the fans?
martonrover Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Whatever way you read it, the person who claims to be heading Rovers has in effect said he has no confidence in the Manager and that he is simply waiting to sack him. Moreover he has said that to an audience of 500 fans with a Radio presenter and was videoed for national TV> This is not a matter of waiting 3, 4, 6 or 7 games or whatever the formula. There is clearly no confidence in Kean and he should be removed IMMEDIATELY. Any other outcome is beyond farcical. Or underlines the deep criminality which more and more people are suspecting is the reality. Agreed, but maybe another explanation is the continuing misplaced loyalty of Madam Desai?
Ferrit Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Blackburn setting up Shearer move? http://www.newcastleunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/blackburn_setting_up_shearer_move_751982/index.shtml? Shearer wanted nothing to do with us when we were a stable club, why in gods name would he want anything to do with us now? Possibly, but where did they ever give a sh!t about appeasing the fans? Perhaps they've learnt through poor tickets sales that the fans are losing interest.

Backroom DE. Posted August 12, 2012 Backroom Posted August 12, 2012 Perhaps they've learnt through poor tickets sales that the fans are losing interest. Or maybe when they saw fans were moving beyond protest and into talking with the FA/Government they realised they needed to do something to try and shut them up. Or 'appease' them.
philipl Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Agreed, but maybe another explanation is the continuing misplaced loyalty of Madam Desai? Don't assume she is as clean as she is being given a pass for being.... She is the one of the three of then who has been arrested.
PMT Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 If he had the power to get rid of Kean it would have already happened. Spot on.

T4E Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Just watched the video. I must say, it was very kind of Ashley from Coronation Street to organise this for us. Maxine would be proud.

AllRoverAsia Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Just watched the video. I must say, it was very kind of Ashley from Coronation Street to organise this for us. Maxine would be proud. Is there a link to the full meeting?? I've just seen the small bit when Shebby says Kean goes after 3. Shebby loks in that like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Personally think Shebby is on the verge of being sacked ! But who actually employs him?

Paul Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Is the full video being put up somewhere? Not till the club have edited it. Joke - not to be taken seriously
AllRoverAsia Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Venky's. Out of India? I hope someone tracks his time spent in UK...
yoda Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Just sums up how dire our situation is when we get excited following this muppets comments. What have we become, a compete laughing stock - it completely beggars belief. Also got a ridiculous scenario where a lot of fans probably want us to lose the first 3 games of the season. The circus show continues.... Your so right, wouldn't it have been far far better to have said one game! Which unhinged manager would take his place now? A club that will do its dirty washing in public! I expected a retraction in the press this morning or at least a smoothing out statement, but nothing so far. I'm afraid Kean is fast becoming a national hero outside Blackburn. He'll be on talk shows with Mo Farrah etc. 'Well Mo, what inspired you to win those 2 gold medals'? 'That's an easy one, I looked at Steve Keans treatment by his club and the way he stood strong through all the abuse from inside and outside the club, and his determination to succeed was an inspiration!!' We are making Kean a martyr!! I don't care if we make him the King of the universe as long as he gets sacked
