On the '5 game' theory and Keans' future Shebby says 'you can't say (give him) five games, 7 games, 10 games, (but) we need to meet targets'.

A target of 2 points per game, evaluated every three games, retroactive to December, 2010, sounds appropriate. End result, Kean should have long since been sacked for failing to meet targets.

He can't say anything that could possibly convince the fans that things are getting better Matty. Hopefully though, the people at the KGH will let him know exactly what they think.

TBH, I think he's off his trolley doing this. He would be far better advised to get on with the job of turning the club around - if that's what he's really gonna do - , than going from interviews to meetings simply talking about it.

Indeed, and I hope they get something out of it. But what can he possibly say that is different from last night's Q &A?

Depends on what he gets asked and whether or not he gets carried away in the moment. 500 people asking why Kean hasn't been sacked aren't going to hear anything new. Asking detailed questions about targets being set, what he considers success etc might help box him in and force the Kean issue one way or the other sooner than otherwise.

Personally I suspect the evening will act as therapy for people to vent which will achieve nothing, especially for the people venting

IMO Den Shebby's job is not to come in and turn the club around, but to act as a PR man, get on the side of the fans (particularly the more troublesome ones) and give the impression someone actually cares and will take action if need be, If so he's done a great job so far.

We will see when the season starts, but my gut feeling is that Shebby is nothing but a pawn in Kean and Venky's little game.

I think you are a bit of a mug if you give this guy a chance before he actually "does" anything. If he does something rather than trying to be everybodies friend I will be astonished. Look at their track record. Has anything in the main running of the club changed?

There is only one simple question I want to be asked to Shabba and that is...

If results are going bad (as expected), yes or no, do you have the authority to sack Steve Kean?

If he doesn't answer yes then I am leaving straight away. There is no point what so ever carrying on the meeting if he gives any other answer than that

Fair play to the guy for agreeing, if he hadn't he would have been panned for that.

Presumably everyone saying "we want action not words" understands that Q&A's involve just words.

Yet Kean should have been sacked a year ago, or at the very, very latest after losing at home to WBA and Bolton within the space of a few days. Of course, he was rewarding with a huge payrise.

Rovers fans have waited far too long for action.

You are right about one thing...it IS all "just words" from our illustrious owners.

If he did sack Kean after 5 or 6 games would he suddenly be a hero?

Yes.

It will have been more than anyone else has done in the past 18 months.

Unless, of course, just talking the talk is his actual job description.
