Well things could go either way with Rhodes its 50/50 but could turn out to be a great signing which imo i think he'll be decent, but then could terribly flop, but in regards to goodwillie, people are writing him off ect... but hes very rarely played in hes proper position, and barely had any games, its like Kalinic he never got a proper run in the side but people were already writing him off, its not easy being in and out of a team to sustain form.

In my opinion, neither Rhodes nor the City lad will join us.

Look at list 'D' where I understand there is a Norwegian by the name of Ballen, Balken or something like that.

TBH, all a bit boring now.

Exactly.....you need a run in the team for a variety of reasons.....to build up fitness as well as confidence...vital for a striker, getting used to your team-mates and the tactics used, probably others as well that I've forgotten at the moment......a lot of people had wrote Hanley off and look what happened to him after a run in the team......and like you said the only games Goodwillie was played in his natural position were cup games.....against lower league opposition admittedly but apparently he played well.

I am not a Goodwillie fan but you have to admit he didn't get a run of games as a striker. He also had a lot of personal problems with the court case. I think he could score goals in the championship but I think he will be sold.

Up until now I've always said the same however a number of people who have watched him in preason (that takes me back to happier times) have said he has been disappointing and consistently one of the worst players on the pitch.

I think we need to move on to a different target paying 5/6 million with add ons for a striker who has only proved he can cut it in league one is far too much.

I know we paid the same amount for Kalinic which I also thought was too much.

He has potential but sometime I think with strikers like this its the team and set up around them at the time that make it work for them. I would say Goodwillie is a good example of this he was scoring for fun in the SPL with Dundee but since he has been here he doesnt look like a very good player in all honesty but he was far cheaper.

If Huddesfield dont accept our HUGE offer for him and he doesnt make much of a mark this season in the championship they will be kicking themselves. He could be like Nicky Maynard where the championship is firmly his level.

Too Risky too expensive and paying stupid wages, Venkys written all over it.

Pre season Ricky? It was obvious from the first couple of games last season.

Andy Cryer has confirmed that we have offered Huddersfield 5 up front with loads of add ons and a substantial sell on fee.

Rhodes will be offered a 5 year deal which will make him one of the highest paid players in the Championship and we hope to tie the deal up before Sundays game.

Huddersfield will be brave to turn that down because they might not get that again and I can't imagine that Rhodes will be happy but at the end of the day its up to them.

I don't see what else we can do, I certainly wouldn't pay more than what we are offering. I am slightly nervous that we have offered so much already even though I think he will be a top player.

I think that this is very much a final offer, if Huddersfield reject it then we will move on.

My worry is that Huddersfield will intentionally drag their feet over this all week and then reject the offer, leaving us without a main striker for the firts game of the season.

Id start with Gomes if he hasnt signed by next week. Rochina just off him, Problem solved and I'd say about 3 goals between them :)
