Mercer
Which be a good signing. very similar to Rhodes. A natural goalscorer. Don't think he will come with Saints in PL now Maybe look towards Velios from Everton or Cox from WBA. Also Andy Cryer is saying that John Guidetti is the next target. Excellent post Chaddy - get a feckin life and get a woman instead of bombarding Nicko on Twitter with stupid questions. All you seem interested in is signing players irrespective of how good or otherwise they may be - try Football Manager !

dwayne cage
I don't care if this is pessimistic but Cox is donkey balls! Guidetti was meant to be going to Sunderland but has some sort of illness so doubt that will happen. Billy Sharp is a good player but I doubt like many he'd drop down a division. I think Velios will be Moyes' super sub choice this season.
sharpysharps
Can't we all just get along!? Not the end of the world this, might find that we get a decent striker in for much less in transfer fees....how's that for crazy talk eh
blueboy3333
Confirms what I said earlier, IMO, appalling negotiations. Gone on far too long. Again, IMO, Ewood's management is feckin hopeless. I don't think negotiations are a factor at all. The Best, Murphy and Etuhu deals were all wrapped up quickly without any fuss. The problem with this one is Rhodes is on a long contract so Huddersfield don't have to sell unless they get a ridiculous offer, which they haven't. Murphy free agent, think he took the biggest wad of dosh. Best, Etuhu going nowhere, journeymen who think Christmas has come early with big, big 4 year contracts handed out. First 'serious' negotiation and we come unstuck !

Teacup
First 'serious' negotiation and we come unstuck ! Well, we can't pretend to be shocked, not as if this hasn't happened numerous times before: Piatti, Fabiano, Honda, Witsel, Milito, Cissé.. Those are what I can remember, probably many more. Backroom Tom Posted August 10, 2012 Backroom Share Posted August 10, 2012 Well let's get our Heskey shirts now! I'd have him, he'd be a perfect foil for gomes or rochina for me, we need someone to do the ugly work for one of them and he'd do the job. Santa Cruz would be an option too but fitness is the glaring problem but when fit I've seen games were he appears to win every single header he goes for. Disclaimer: I may have had a San Miguel or two!
Hekla
Very disappointed if true. Many more strikers out there though, if a chance to sign Guidetti on loan is there then I would be quickly over the disappointment.
bob fleming
First 'serious' negotiation and we come unstuck ! Their Chairmans done a Jack. Fair play to him. How it should be. At least HT know who their Chairman is and have a proper manager in place. I expect Rhodes will get a wage rise. Meanwhile, according to reports, we have £5m to burn on a striker. Personally I'd just pay Kean up and go with what we've got. But that would be far too sensible. Surely Portugal must have some more players we can buy? How have the club 'come unstuck' if Huddersfield don't want to sell. Srtrange logic. Also. they were only 'serious negotiations' if you believe we offered £5m! It was Cryer who said it was £5m+. He must have got that from someone at the club. That person at the club might be telling Cryer a load of porkies.

Salgado Is A Hero
Well, we can't pretend to be shocked, not as if this hasn't happened numerous times before: Piatti, Fabiano, Honda, Witsel, Milito, Cissé.. Those are what I can remember, probably many more. They are all extremely talented players who we didn't have a real chance of signing....people talk about almost signing players like Honda and Witsel but I can't believe that anyone who has seen them play thought we had a chance.....like someone said the other day, Witsel is linked with Real Madrid and Man United now, we had no chance......Luis Fabiano? The guy who starts up front for Brazil? Cisse at a stretch but he went to a Newcastle side challenging for a European place......did they all come from Nixon, is that what it is? I know the Premier League is one of the best in the world but not many would choose mid table in England over Champions League/Winning domestic trophies. Roverdale
Cant believe anyone is turning their nose up at Heskey! Miles better than Roberts and look what he did in this division! Disappointed at losing out on Rhodes but as has been mentioned I think £6m could be better spent on paying off Kean and getting a new manager. If not then £1.5m maybe on Heskey? I really don't know? And as people pointed out £2-3m on Sharp. Probably be in a better position than just £6m on Rhodes. None of the 3 would be good enough in prem in my opinion anyway. So irrelevant of what we spent the money on we'd be reinvesting next summer

Salgado Is A Hero
Jermaine Jones. The guy who fell out with his coach so was sent out on loan? Then after they got a new coach they wouldn't accept less than £10 million for him.
