Meanwhile, according to reports, we have £5m to burn on a striker. Personally I'd just pay Kean up and go with what we've got. But that would be far too sensible.

?

NO,NO,NO,

If Mr Kean were to be forced to leave his job and the club had to honour the balance of his contract, gardening leave has to be the only way to go.

The guy who fell out with his coach so was sent out on loan? Then after they got a new coach they wouldn't accept less than £10 million for him.

Sorry, updated my post. I apologise I do not remember the names of some of these people. Had to have a look back into the past.

Jermaine Jones. Vieirinha. Mongongu. Onuoha. Ibišević.

I am not a Negative Nelly like some of the posters, but Mercer has a point -_-

They're not top class players though....well the ones you later added......my point was the likes of WItsel are linked with Real Madrid for a reason and we never had a realistic chance of signing them.

Is big Emile not a free agent at the moment?

Pretty sure he is Tom. Big lad up front for some of our 37 attacking midfielders to play off? Relatively cheap? Would "do a job"? Nah...

If Mr Kean were to be forced to leave his job and the club had to honour the balance of his contract, gardening leave has to be the only way to go.

And as the weeds take over in Keanos garden he turns to his wife and invisible dog "can't you see what I'm trying to do here *hic* ".

Followed by an interview with Jim White from Sky where Kean says its been a massive learning curve and how it could have been so different if he had an ounce of integrity.

Anyway, Jordan Rhodes. Never mind eh? First goalscorer at Ewood anyone?

Even better. I reckon we'd be stupid not to sign him. Admittedly he's not the most exciting, but he scored goals at Prem level. A year out of him at Champs level would be good business.

 No it wouldn't Heskey as our main striker, we might as well bring Shearer out of retirement and prod him with a stick saying "Score like you used too". Maradona now could score more goals than Heskey! The only team he ever seemed to score against in the past two seasons was us!

Scott McDonald of Boro?

such is life. If it is any consolation Hoyle will not sell Jordan Rhodes to any other Championship club. Unless it was a crazy offer over 8 million even then I think he might only sell him to a premiership club as the club will not be a direct rival.

My prediction is Rhodes will have a similar season to Ricky Lambert so I am going to go for 30 goals from Rhodes this season.

good luck for the season and I look forward to the visit of Steve Kean, I am no sure he will be made to welcome. But like someone said on our messageboard, I guess he is used to taking stick from fans in blue and white.

Final thing, I hope you get shot of Kean and the Venkeys asap and your club returns to it community and you recover the legacy that Jack Walker left you.

Regards

Ben

Really doubt Ibisevic would come when he was massively speculated to be coming (another deal is almost sealed job) the one clause he wanted was a relegation one. Onouha will get played in QPR's squad why leave a club on the up? J.Jones would be a mysterious buy considering we now have Etuhu.

No, these are older transfers we tried to get but for whatever reason they didn't go through. I am not saying we should go for them now haha :)

If the story of £6m and incentives has any steam to it, I'd be worried that Rhodes can live up to expectation from it.

Don't get me wrong, such an exciting player, and someone that could make us a fortune down the line, providing we, err, provide him with goals, but away from financial stability (I have this idea that in the Venky world, Rhodes is a 12-month purchase to bang the goals in and be sold for a small fortune when we're promoted again), I'm concerned about that rickety backbone of a defence. Rhodes can bang them in left, right and centre, but, like last season, Coco and co. seem oblivious to the fact that we have an amazingly weak and shallow defensive line-up.

The last time we paid £6m for someone, that didn't come off as well as people thought it would either. That said, Rhodes has more talent in his pinky than Dann has in his entire body.

If Rohdes bangs them in at the level he has been then he will be worth a fortune however i can see huddersfield being down the bottom of the division and not creating much so he might struggle to get the goals a 6m striker would warrant however had we got him i could have seen him bagging a hatfull however time to move on to other targets Gudetti on loan or hopefully a full time signing would be a good move.

Guys you're all missing the main point here - we've been chasing Rhodes down blind alleys for the best part of 7 days which leaves us with 1 week to find a front line striker. Not likely. Goodie or Nuno it is.

Said a few days ago, this was a "media" event by Rovers. If we really wanted him, given our current position, we would not be alerting the press and possibly invoking a bidding war. If you really want someone and think you have stolen a march on others, the last thing you do is start doing interviews about it.

Strikingly similar to last season where we couldn't spend the Kalinic money, which since seems to have disapeered.

Bob, I think Portugal is running out now, think we should move on to Greecian youngsters.

Unless it was a crazy offer over 8 million

We should of offered around that in the beginning, god knows why we were skirting around 3-5M when Fulham were told 6M+ to even discuss it further.

Seems odd Shebby was on the radio blabbering about how he was in control of transfers.. Yet all the talk about the Rhodes bid appears to have come from the lips of Kean.

Good luck for next season. It's nice to see a fan who's club is on the up on here. Please feel free to start your own Kean Out group down the Galpharm. Can't comment on Rhodes as never seen him, but hope you don't do same as last time you were in similar position and cash in your better players.

I honestly now don't believe rovers ever truly expected to sign Rhodes, Just another PR stunt, i bet we end up just getting another striker on loan, possibly Guidetti, but he could have better options(Def cant see him signing on a permanent).

Until they have a forward of Rhodes/Guidettis quality signed permanently on the books, i wont believe anything that is said about rovers transfer targets/offers, I think Kamy/Cryer are being used(by no fault of their own) as part of Agnew/Kean/Shebbys PR charge of making us believe things are on the up, When in reality below the surface nothing has really changed, only got worst if anything......

ie. Kean/Agnew have more power than ever, shebbys just a human shield, All our best players still want out(the ones that haven't left already), The players that have come in are mostly completely unproven(the Portuguese lads), Kean sycophants and has-been mercenaries(Murphy, Best, Gomes), but hey! we have had a great Pre-season!!!!!!!!!!.

Chaddy - get a feckin life and get a woman instead of bombarding Nicko on Twitter with stupid questions. All you seem interested in is signing players irrespective of how good or otherwise they may be - try Football Manager !

Talking of getting a life, how about you turn off the computer for a bit?
