I feel like a broken record but Huddersfield town have clearly stated they will not sell to another championship club. There is no deal any take of a deal is and always has been just talk to appease Blackburn fans. There never has been and there never will be a deal done on this.

Rhodes is and will be a Huddersfield town player at the start of the season.

That is the way of it.

Whilst I don't believe that this transfer will happen, you're a fool if you actually take what every chairman says at face value. As cliché as it is, money talks. Clearly Rovers have put a reasonable amount of effort into this and I struggle to believe that they would have done so had they received no signs of encouragement.

We've been on the opposite side of similar deals and normally, no matter how much you want to hold out, player power and the sway of a 'bigger' club come to tell and the money becomes more enticing. It may well be that, in this instance, we simply aren't prepared to stump up the cash, but all indications are that if we offered you 7-8m he'd be gone and it may not even take that much.

Great for you if you hold onto him, but we know from past experience that, even with an honest man in charge who is a good businessman and negotiator, that it is often a losing battle.

I accept that. however I am willing to bet, my house, my car and my own mum that there is no transfer. Although i accept that I can never be 100% (nor can anything in the world be 100% certain), I am 99.9999999999.. % sure that there is no transfer of Jordan Rhodes to Blackburn.

Based on what?

Rovers are offering a number of players as sweetners, We have a new croatian fitness coach and Rochina's fitness levels are well off the requirement,

Rochina is injured at the moment.isn't he? Hamstring? So yeah his fitness levels will be way off!

Rhodes looked good tonight, a natural finisher and his goal was class. If things go well for him he's a mix of McCoist and Shearer.

Probably worth a 7m punt.

if he's as good as those 2, 7m would be a bargain! :lol

If he is as good as some people make out , why are premier league boys not after him ?

Durham and Gough discussed Rhodes on Talksport around 5.15pm last night , they both agreed a move to Blackburn would be a disaster for the lad.

I cannot disagree with their findings .

Oh . for a proper manager ..

With venkys transfer policy it can, I'll say 100% he won't get anywhere near Ewood park.

I'll p1ss myself if he signs after reading that. :D

I don't reckon he'll sign for Rovers either, but I very much doubt he'll be a Huddersfield player either come the end of the transfer window. That international goal would have alerted more clubs and I can see him being a Premiership player by the 1st September.

It's not how Town would do business. The squad is settled and ready for the first game of the championship on Friday night. Dean Hoyle would not sell Rhodes and leave the squad and Simon Grayson scratching around to find a replacement.

If a premiership team came in with a bid for him now that was over 8 million then my educated guess is the transfer and dealings would be discussed with Jordan behind closed doors and and transfer and all details agreed but for the transfer to take place in the January transfer window. We would have time to find a replacement and none would get any news of the transfer until it happened in January.

Huddersfield don't do idle gossip in the papers and most of the signings this summer have only leaked on the day of the announcement.

All the papers and other fans said Rhodes would be gone in the January transfer window after he scored 5 in a game in December. Hoyle said he was not for sale, it took 3 weeks but the press finally accepted that it was bluster or talk to drive up the price, Dean Hoyle was not going to sell in January. He is not going to sell either 1 day out from the start of the season.

All the best

Ben

As i'm feeling more and more doubtful about this move, Glen, Nicko(i know it's Nicko) and Kamy all seem pretty confident in the transfer happening. The LT again reporting we have moved on today (same old stories for the last week). I cant help but think its not the end of it. If our Shebbs wants to rebuild these bridges he has to deliver, him not delivering is going to throw us right back to summer last season.

Ben no disrespect but you are Huddersfield not Utd, City etc. No matter how many times your chairman says he wont sell, if he gets the right price he'll sell. As for looking for a new signing, dont think Church will be signing to play up top with Rhodes, he is a direct replacement.

Rhodes just isn't the sort of person to push through a move, anyone who says this clearly doesn't know him...

He still lives with his parents, doesn't drink and just lives for scoring goals.

This interview was after he scored 5 in a game away from home on a Friday night on Sky, in front of 8 Premier League scouts

Q. "Do you take any notice of that at all"

A. "No, they could be here for anyone"

You do realise you support Huddersfield and not Manchester United?

You make out like Huddersfield are in the champions league.

If someone offers the money he will go.

Hoyle being a illegitimate to deal with.

I don't think Town are Billy big-boots or owt. We are a medium sized club who nearly went bust in 2002 and have been slumming it in the bottom 2 divisions ever since. However we have got lucky ( in a similar manner to your own Jack Walker) in that a Town fan who has made a large amount of money over the last 12 years has decided to build something at Town. He stood with the core of our support on the terraces for 30 years, this is no fair weather fan.

with this mindset which most are not aware of, He is building a legacy at Huddersfield. a state of the art training complex which is built with the local Huddersfield community be able to use the training facilities, A complete over haul of the academy and scouting system. We have not splashed stupid amounts of cash around on players, but have carefully built the squad each year.

All of this links back to the Jordan Rhodes and the reason his will not be sold. firstly he is our jewel and the differences between mid-lower table and a genuine push for the playoffs. Secondly and even more importantly is the effect of selling Marcus Stewart to Ipswich all those years ago. I have said earlier that Ipswich went to get get promoted to the premiership and town missed out on the playoffs on the final day of the season. But there is far more to it.

The next year, the funding from the owners at the time go pulled, we went into something a of a mini Portsmouth situation, We got relegated, have money problems, relegated again and nearly liquidated. This is seared into the mind of Town fans and Dean Hoyle certainly.

So the mind set is his is never going to sell a star player/best player to a divisional rival. He is looking to build the squad rather than sell anyone. £7 million is a lot of money, however in truth we are in an enviable position where we do not need to take the money. Because he wants to build something, he also is not going to leave Grayson short of a quality striker on the eve of the first season back in the championship. If Rhodes is going to be sold this year it will be in January when we have had 3 months finding a negotiating a possible replacement or next summer.

Well from absolutely everything that has come from him in the past 3 years or so, I really don't think so.

He's a modest lad who is happy doing what he does best, in an environment that helps him do that.

Having said that, don't miss-interpret that for a lack of ambition. He wants to (and will) play at the very top.

"The fans are singing your not for sale, are they right?"

"Thats not for me to comment on."

Hardly sounds like "I love this club, I'm going nowhere." does it?

Im sure your owner is good. Im sure Rhodes enjoys playing for you. But your Huddlesfield Town. No history, no major investment to suggest youll be challenging the better teams of this league, relatively inexperienced at this level and totally inexperienced at Premier League level.

For what its worth, I dont think Rhodes will sign for Rovers. Simply because I dont think we will bid enough. But im telling you now, 7million pounds upfront and your wonderful chairman WILL accept the bid. Thats from a credible, belivable source (in Huddlesfield, not Blackburn), as of 3 days ago. And when that bid goes in (which it will do, one day, by somebody, because Jordan Rhodes is a brilliant player), you'll see just how modern day big transfers work. If that bid is accepted, Rhodes will have practically already signed behind your back.

Say what you want about him being down to earth and living with his parents; he WILL have agents, and whispers telling him how much he can earn elsewhere. And those same people will be looking for a payday themselves, forcing a move through. Professional Football is a short game, and hes 6 years off his peak. To earn maximum money (which is what they all want to do), he needs to move in the next 12 months to ensure he gets his biggest contract at his peak.

Honestly dont even think it would need 7 million up front. thats a lot of money, whether he is profilic or not asking 7 million for a player who played in league 1 last season is ridiculous, 6 million and a player he's ours.

That reminds me of a certain Mr Jones but the difference is he was actually a Rovers fan, he bogged off when we needed him the most and now he's plying his trade on the Red side of Manchester.

Beware Huddersfield fans, there is NO loyalty in football.

I completely agree with you, and you wont find a single Town fan who thinks that Rhodes will be here this time next year (unless by some freak we manage to "do a Southampton"). It's just not the right time yet.

The bit about "Thats not for me to comment on." is because he feels that playing football is his job, not deciding whether he will be sold or not.

And to the dig about "no history and no major investment"...Needless, and inaccurate.

Fair play to the Huddersfield chairman, either way they are doing well by their club, either they stick to their ground and keep the terrace hero or they are going to get the best possible price.

As for us we should go in with one last solid cash up front bid and then move on to get someone in ASAP, it looks increasingly likely we will end up with a last minute loan or similar to make up the numbers

Your a mind reader now are you? How on earth do you know how he means it?

Its neither needless nor innaccurate. Both of those points are further reasons why he will be interested in moves elsewhere.
