I think you need to calm down, it was like this when people where reporting we had an offer accepted, then everyone went pysco the day after when it turned out to be untrue.

I'm here and still willing to bet that he will not be going to Blackburn and will not be leaving Huddersfield in this summer transfer window

My guess is if Huddersfield are mid table at Christmas and a good offer comes in for him then He'll be off to the premiership, Everton or a mid table premiership club in January. If Town are in the play offs then We might yet hold onto him till the summer.

I know I use this too often but...

They proved they could play well without Rhodes tonight. £6.5m upfront is a wad of cash. Could this happen?!

Rhodes ability to score from a half chance is invaluable to us. Tonigt we played great. With Rhodes in the side we'd have won. Multiply that over a course of a season, well what value can you put on that?

Right, I'll have a tenner on it then....

That's not how the game works I'm afraid.

If it did we'd have kept Jones and Samba last season, and most likely stayed up.

Every player has their price, every player can be brought of course. but the circumstances of the buyer and the seller in question sets the parameters of any deal.

Under the venkeys you have been a full on selling club, i.e. clearly happy to let players go and end in relegation. not the fans but your owners. We do not need the money, the club in on the up, people want to be part of something good happening rather than something that is clearly being run down with chaotic leadership at the top.

I admire your view Ben, but let me quote Mamadou Diallo who played in Norway when asked where he would prefere to move: "I go where the money is".

I think you're a bit deluded. In a world where RVP has gone from Arsenal to Man Utd there's no such thing as "we do not need the money".

At the moment we've got a much better squad than you due to where we've come from. With that £6.5m whether it's from us or whether some other club buy him you could strengthen and stay in the division. Then you're in a much better position next season for building the team again for a push to the prem if your owner is true to his word.

By the way if Hudds really did pass up the opportunity of taking Rochina as part of the deal, you've missed out on a young player with a lot of potential (ex Barca youth product). With a decent manager that lad will go far. I just wish our toad of a manager could see it and nurture it as Souness did with Matty Jansen.

Something doesn't add up still

Why would we mess around with installments then offer more than the full amount upfront

If it does come off I hope we can all keep a bit of decorum and remember that we are normally the team on the other end of this sort of thing

Andy Cryer tweeted that Petrovic off to Turkey. Maybe we needed to get someone off the wage bill ( which Glen M has mentioned )

Funnily enough if it happens this transfer may save Kean's skin if Rhodes starts banging goals in.

Looks like it'll be a case of score more than the other team again with Rhodes taking the Yak role. That said we saw what happened with that strategy last season.

I wouldnt be suprised if we dont let in as many Keans organisational skills dont exist but Muprhy and Etuhu are experienced and should know each others game inside out so should help our badly organised defence a lot (when they are fit.)

If Scott Dann is a guarenteed starter he will probably cause us a lot of problems with his mistakes, bad positioning, and constant hoofing of the ball when it is anywhere near him (but most of us have seen what happens when he tries to keep hold of the ball for more than 2 seconds)
