Ricky Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Surely Sharp has noticed he's quite a long way away from Saints starting line up after the weekend. Snap him up now.

chaddyrovers Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 we aint signing Rhodes now. we have spent 3 weeks on this and got nowhere. we need to move on to other striker now. maybe look at Sharp from Saints or Baldock from WHU or McDonald from Boro. most any of them would cost is 3 mil. then look to sign a winger with pace which we lack and proper left bk
booth Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 We'd get Sharp a lot cheaper than £8m If Fulham pay £7m they must be nuts with the gulf between League 1 and the PL. I thought we were nuts when hearing of a £6.5m bid. I'm sure Rhodes will indeed make a good PL striker in time but anyone just expecting him to make the leap in divisions like that is crazy. For £7m I'm sure there are much more established strikers they could bring in. Strange move for Jol, I thought he was a level headed manager.

It is starting to get tempting though. 11 days left to see which way this goes.
Roverdale Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I 'think' it will still be a rejection. It is starting to get tempting though. 11 days left to see which way this goes. 11 days to see which club he leaves for I think you mean. You can't seriously think you'll hold onto him if the £7m offer from Fulham is genuine. He isn't worth that and it's Prem football. We need to move on and id suggest Huddersfield need to find a new striker sharp-ish as well

The starting valuation to to begin to even discuss a possible transfer is £8 million. Fulham are getting closer I realise that so it is becoming more testing. My view is we are probably going to keep him.
davulsukur Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I would imagine that if Fulham came in with £7million Huddersfield wouldn't hold him back. It's different than selling to us, we are a league rival, Fulham are a prem team. Rhodes would want to play in the prem and Huddersfield wouldn't hold him against his will, nor hold him back with a chance to progress his career at the top level. They can and most likely will keep telling us to swivel as i doubt they will see us a good career move for the lad.
Torgeir Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 We should shift our focus to Guidetti now, if it indeed was true that he was offered to us. Most fans would be equally happy with that signing, and it seems like it would be an easier deal to do.
Puffsan Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Last i I heard was sunderland preparing a bid in the 7-8 million region after growing tired over wolves rejecting bids on steven fletcher. No way guidetti will sign for us

NIxon reckons that Fulham have NOT entered a second bid and that their first and only was around the 2 million mark.
diziet2 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 NIxon reckons that Fulham have NOT entered a second bid and that their first and only was around the 2 million mark. the guy knows nothing. it was a very sizable and decent bid from Fulham.around the £7 million mark.

Most fans would be equally happy with that signing, and it seems like it would be an easier deal to do. I was thinking this earlier today, I can't see any harm in making a bid just to test the water so to speak. Why weren't we trying our hardest to push this through instead of wasting our time on a comparatively unproven player in Jordan Rhodes.
Kelbo Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Surely Sharp has noticed he's quite a long way away from Saints starting line up after the weekend. Snap him up now. Yes I agree, he would be a good signing for us, as I mentioned earlier, having played with Diouf at Docaster, he will have told him all about Kean and the numptys at Rovers, so he may not want to come here!!
Ricky Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Or he knows what Diouf is like and ignors everything he says?
danger19_80 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 the guy knows nothing. it was a very sizable and decent bid from Fulham.around the £7 million mark. Can I ask what your sources are Ben, from within the club?
adsfortheblues Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I really cant imagine that Fulham will have jumped from a bid of 2million to over 7 million, just like that.
DanLad Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Strange move for Jol, I thought he was a level headed manager. No, he's not level headed. Not level at all. He has a head shaped a bit like a potato.
Hughesy Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Fulham stuff sounds like Huddersfield trying to get us to get a move on or put abit of pressure on to get a higher price
dwayne cage Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Sign me then maybe I can score three times as more as our second highest scorer will this season . Yeah had a lot of spare time since I've been on the sick with work lol
booth Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Fulham stuff sounds like Huddersfield trying to get us to get a move on or put abit of pressure on to get a higher price Or Rhodes agent.
dwayne cage Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I would love Sharp at thye club but i cant see our club being intelligent enough to put a bid in for him. Guidetti would be a quality signing provided he's over his illness that mmade him lose feeling inj one foot And 7m for an ex league 1 player is miles over the price he's worth. Demba Ba was only worth 7m until the other week!
BPF Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 FulhamNYC @NYCFulham RT “@Bobharper1992: Rhodes to Fulham FC is a done deal. Fee is £5.5m + 2m in add on's. To be confirmed by Thursday #FFC #huddersfield #brfc”
Mercer Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Football Agent NCP@Agent_NCP Jordan Rhodes to Fulham should be announced by Friday. #FFC #HTAFC
diziet2 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 the bid is in, but nothing is decided yet. not yet accepted.. interesting to see which way this goes.
SamTheShrew Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Like we were ever serious anyway. The last two years are testament to our transfer policy. Gomes now needs to lose about 10 years
