At last we might be able to shut this flaming thread. Every time i come on the site i see this listed as a 'Hot Topic' only to click on the latest post and find it ends with the poster writing some inane rubbish and ending it with 'LOL'. It has become so drawn out that even if we signed him i think my judgement would be tainted. Guilty by association - of wasting my time.

LOL!!!

The way this has been handled, confirms, IMO, that there is a serious lack of nous and know how at Ewood. This has been going on for approaching 3 weeks now which is, IMO, ridiculous.

What Shebby, Shaw & Agnew do all day is beyond me. No shirt sponsor, Darwen End stand sponsor lost, rumours of very poor corporate sales, season tickets down by 10 to 12 thousand inside 2 seasons.

Can things really get much worse ?

Are there any positives ?

Fleetwood might be our local derby sooner than some folk may think !

I can only assume that CKR will continue in the striker role now until Best is back. Certainly not ideal as personally I'd love to see CKR go out to RW or LW because my Nan is quicker than our wide men who played on Saturday.

As long as we made it look like we were serious then the club can get away with 'we were outpriced' 'Huddersfield wouldn't play ball' etc in an attempt to appease the fans.

Not buying it.

i would like to see Rhodes at rovers but 7 million is a lot of money and a gamble. You cannot criticise Rovers for trying to get him cheaper by unsettling him. For 7 million you want a striker who will not only get the goals to get you up but also score goals in the premiership. Rhodes might not be able to do that. Personally I would spend the money on someone like Billy Sharpe, DJ Campbell or even Jay Bothroyd and another left back.

I would imagine rovers are waiting for petrovic's transfer to go through before they make the proper bid for Rhodes. By 'proper' I means 6.5m cash up front instead of installments which it currently is. The previous bids are clearly a ploy to unsettle the player which seemed to have worked. I don't buy the “he's injured” line from hudds.

If the 'proper' bid is rejected then rovers will move on.

Well dont read it if you dont want to waste your time

You miss the point Mr Cage. I read the 'Hot Topic' because i'm interested to see if any progress has been made on the purchase of Jordan Rhodes. Sadly it seems the thread has been kept going on 1% news to 99% drivel. Its boring. Forgive me for checking in the hope there might be some actual news worth reading.

Edit

Having said that, i'm pretty sure this post falls into the 99% bracket too. So i'd be wise to keep schtum!

to clarify things.

Rhodes really does have a minor hamstring injury picked up while playing for Scotland. Lavien confirmed. He felt fine on the Thursday but on the mid morning session on the Friday before the game, he felt it tighten again and went for a scan at the Cardiff hospital. it was shown that he has a grade 1 tear ( A minor pulled muscle), will be fine if rested for a week but if he played then he could be out for the month to 6 weeks. He is doubtful for the forest game tomorrow night.

The valuation of Rhodes is £8 million and until that is met there is no negotiation. Fulham have got close at a combined £7.5 Million but are not there yet.

Huddersfield will not sell to a divisional rival even if the £8 million is met.

Since the beginning of Blackburns interest these basic criteria have not changed and aren't going to.

Incidentally Blackburns rather shabby attempts to unsettle the player and lie in public has not been well received and been seen in a very dim light. This will have ramifications on any other future deals. your marked as a club not to be trusted.

That's the state of play. 11 days to go. I remain confident that Rhodes will still be a Town player at the beginning of Sept.

Why would Fulham jump from a lowly £2m offer to £7.5m? short answer, they wouldn't.

dempsey demanding a move.

Even if they do sell Dempsey they aren't in a position to spend £7m+ on a unproven player, I imagine they are already regretting the £10m they spent on Ruiz

Huddersfield fans sounding naive as Rhodes will more than likely be snapped up by a prem club if not rovers. Will be tough for them to stay up without him which is a shame as they are clearly a very well run club.

As for Rhodes himself and the rovers bid, I am positive we can get someone else in for cheaper who is more proven at championship level, leaving us with a bit of extra cash to ideally use on bringing a left back in!
