diziet2 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 And Marcus stewart played nearly 200 games for bristol rovers before you produced him. Roberts watford. Duncan Shearer highland league team and chelsea. You appear to have gone all Steve Kean on the facts there Ben. Hands up lads and lassies, I seem to have suffered from momentarily lapsing into 'keaness' or suffering from a bout of 'keantitis'. Its a mixture of dementia, senility and madness combined. thankfully the sight of Jordan Rhodes in a Town top snapped me out of it.

dwayne cage Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Whatever team he's at i dont think he'll score more than 20 this season, if he goes to a PL team i'll be amazed if he gets more than 10

In the premiership I 'think' he be a 20 goal a season player. that range of 17-22 goals would be my guesstimate.
pick32 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Majority of Strikers in the prem could net 40 in league one but struggle to score 15 in prem.
forumquizmaster Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Majority of Strikers in the prem could net 40 in league one but struggle to score 15 in prem. Exhibit A. David Goodwillie. The Jordan Rhodes of the SPL the season before last.

I dont think i am, i think he's a good player but don't think he's better than 90% of the top flights strikers. There will be some he's better than but most he's not. For example Ricky Lambert, Billy Sharp, Vaz Te, Le Fondre, Pog, Carlton Cole (maybe) are probably all better than Rhodes and play for recently promoted teams, who are most likely (according to bookies) to go back down. It would be bad business by Fulham to take such a gamble on an ex-league 1 player after failing to land Pog and losing Andrew Johnson and Zamora and now possibly Dempsey.

I have been having a bit of fun, but genuinely having seen all those players play ( lambert, sharp. La Fondre for down in league 1 and for southhampton, bristol rovers, donny, and rotherham etc), Seeing the others a fair bit on telly, Rhodes is better than all those mentioned.
dwayne cage Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I like Le Fondre saw him play at Rochdale a few times, and he looked impressive, scored 13 goals for Reading in 33 games though and that shows how much harder it is to score when you go up a division.
Ricky Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 13 in 33 is pretty impressive still. Recall he came from the bench in a number of those as well.

Dunnfc Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 We could realistically get: Bothroyd - QPR Vellios- Everton - Loan Weimann- Aston Villa - Loan Federico Macheda - Loan Raheem Sterling - Loan Billy Sharp Sam Baldock - Loan Connor Sammon Jermaine Beckford Stephen Dobbie Lucas Piazon - Loan John Guidetti Alex Nimely - Loan Roque Santa Cruz - Loan Haris Vukic - Loan So if all else fails on Rhodes, get someone else!
Ricky Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Sammon has signed for someone in the Championship, can't think where it was.
Pelio Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Sammon has signed for someone in the Championship, can't think where it was. Derby County I think
pick32 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 We could realistically get: Bothroyd Billy Sharp Lucas Piazon - Loan John Guidetti Roque Santa Cruz - Loan So if all else fails on Rhodes, get someone else! Only 5 of them would make our first team
budha Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I fully expect seeing Ricardo Fuller's diamond earrings at Ewood Park on free transfer once the transfer window has shut and Singh has proven to be all talk.

Think you have rose tinted glasses on my pal. I think you are underestimating the jump from Leage 1 to Championship. Ched Evans banged in 35 goals for Shff United last year, and he certainly found it tough in both the Premier League & Championship in seasons prior.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Fulham have bought Mladen Petric and Rodallega anyway so Rhodes wouldn't be starting......he will most likely be like Connor Wickham and barely play or Victor Moses and have to wait a year before he consistently gets a game. We could realistically get: Bothroyd - QPR Vellios- Everton - Loan Weimann- Aston Villa - Loan Federico Macheda - Loan Raheem Sterling - Loan Billy Sharp Sam Baldock - Loan Connor Sammon Jermaine Beckford Stephen Dobbie Lucas Piazon - Loan John Guidetti Alex Nimely - Loan Roque Santa Cruz - Loan Haris Vukic - Loan So if all else fails on Rhodes, get someone else! Would happily take Weimann.....I don't think they'll let him leave tho as I think Delfouneso probably is off and Heskey is already gone which means Bent and Agbonlahor are their only other strikers.....Billy Sharp obviously, would take a slight gamble on Bothroyd, he has looked really good for Cardiff in the past....some of them are more midfielders or wide players but are decent like Sterling, Piazon or Vukic.....don't want Macheda......do want Guidetti.
dwayne cage Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 A loan for Velios could easily be obtained Everton have a fair few Strikers now
Dunnfc Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Apart from the list earlier i put up what about Johnny Russell from Dundee United. Theguy is talented and clinical, staright swapfor David Badwillie?

Theguy is talented and clinical, staright swapfor David Badwillie? Is that because you seen his goal on the weekend? ......what a strike if you haven't......Celtic have been interested for a while now, I don't know what he wants to do......they're probably the 2nd best team in the SPL so there's a good chance they could get European football and get to the group stages and possibly beyond if they strengthen a bit more and keep hold of Russell and Mackay-Stevens.......I would happily take him as he's a great prospect with serious pace but I'm not sure he would come as like I said, Celtic's interest is well known and they can hopefully offer him Champions League football.
JBiz Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 My "if all else fails" free transfer attacking suggestions for Shebby; Alessandro Del Piero Micheal Owen Ivan Klasnic Somen Tchoyi Angelo Balanta Mamady Sidibe James McFadden Obviously a few jokers, and there aint much point in suggesting defenders!
diziet2 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Apart from the list earlier i put up what about Johnny Russell from Dundee United. Theguy is talented and clinical, staright swapfor David Badwillie? there is paper talk that Huddersfield are looking at a joint bid of £4.5 million for both players. that was on Saturday. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer-centre/8000068/paper-talk I've not heard anything so is just talk. We have had a scout up there watching them over all the games this season though and we signed our fullback dixon from them this summer. no bids but an interest I think. papertalk at present though not bids or owt. N.B. we don't to sell Rhodes to buy these players, just to be clear about that.
