Salgado Is A Hero Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Not necessarily as Mackay-Stevens is a winger and Russell is a winger/forward.
beastlove Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 How about Ched Evans instead of Rhodes? He was banging them up last season and is on a free.
Josh Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 How about Ched Evans instead of Rhodes? He was banging them up last season and is on a free. Isn't he in jail for 5 years for rape? but yes, he was definitely banging them up in more ways than one
beastlove Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Isn't he in jail for 5 years for rape? but yes, he was definitely banging them up in more ways than one Have you never seen the A-team? I am Sure Kean and the bodyguard could break him out
roverandout Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 kean could play 'howling mad murdock'
Mercer Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Reckon there's a fair chance Rhodes will do his 'hammy' good and proper tonight. Always a big risk playing within a week of even a slight pull.
dwayne cage Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Steve Kean will use his A-Team success to star in Kean Machine "Ok boys just run around leave your positions, you kick the ball into your own net whenever you get the chance, you be afraid to head ther ball, you don't dive when they take a shot at your goal we don't want to be washing your kit, and if the guards play rough, fall over so unconvincingly the ref won't give a free kick. Go convicts."
Ricky Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 According to Kammy (not our one) it was pretty much his first touch of the night.
diziet2 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 According to Kammy (not our one) it was pretty much his first touch of the night. sort of. I have just got back from the game and will do my best to give an objective view of his performance ( although it will always be subjective no matter how hard I try to not be). Overall Rhodes was kept quiet throughout the game. Forest are a very good side this year. we found it hard to get many crosses or much delivery at all into the box for Rhodes or Novak to get on the end of. We played quite well but in the final third forest had us sewn up like a kipper. Rhodes is an out and out striker so without any delivery he co not do owt. Some of his hold up play was good when the ball was fed into him, touching it off to the midfielder then turning to move into to the box. He looked a little shy of being 100% and I think that was psychosomatic and being aware of his hamstring. Still he made the full game. so onwards and upwards, he slotted home the penalty to draw a game against a side who will be right up at the top after a quiet night because we could not get the ball to him. All the best Ben

Josh Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 New Rhodes Bid for Rovers Never try to take on the mighty Chaddy at posting links!
A cup of beans Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 The story that wont go away! I have to ask Ben... if Rhodes is good at playing on the last defender, and reading hopeful flicks from his strike partner (who's playing deep?) I fear thats not his strength. That was our 'gameplan' at Ipswich.
Macmadge2011 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Grayson advises on the radio this evening that no one has come anywhere near his valuation price for Rhodes. Nixon appears to think we have now gone in with a 4m cash upfront bid with 2.5 in extras. Column inches need to be filled.
roverandout Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 rhodes meeting huddersfield chairman tomorow according to cryer, will be along the lines of 'please please don't make me join blackburn'.
G Somerset Rover Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Blimmin heck another Nixon pearler, 'it will be Rovers' biggest splash in years'. Not as big as the splash of terd that you write Alan. Wonder who's feeding him these stories?

I have to ask Ben... if Rhodes is good at playing on the last defender, and reading hopeful flicks from his strike partner (who's playing deep?) I fear thats not his strength. That was our 'gameplan' at Ipswich. Rhodes main strength is small movements in the box the momentarily open enough space to put the ball in the back of the net. Hi other strength ( as a striker), is running great patterns and runs (We are really just waiting for our new central midfielders to spot these) latching on and instinctively scoring. If any team get good crosses or sharp passes into the box Rhodes will score.

Wonder who's feeding him these stories? I've thought about this and posted on the Town website about it previously. here goes but is total speculation and not based on a shred of evidence.. ----------------------------------- 2 things: first, getting Transfer news out of Huddersfield Town before the day of the announcement is like getting blood out of a stone since Dean Hoyle took over. This is a good thing as it shows what a professional setup we have at Town now. Second, Nixon seems to be a bit of a supporter of Steve Kean. Therefore ( here goes the speculation) Any leaked information about Blackburns dealings with Huddersfield regarding Rhodes is coming from people close to Steve Kean. Nixon runs these stories but with information that has been spun by Kean. Hence Rhodes being keen on a move, when he hasn't said anything like this to anyone, that the figures are 6.5 million when it turns out to be 2 million or 3 million etc. so we get this nonsense and then has to contradict himself as what Kean is passing on is not actually the true dealings. Just my thoughts on it. -------------------

Wonder who's feeding him these stories? Following him on twitter, seems to me his sources are Huddersfield people - think Venky's sacked all his sources at Ewood If that's true Ben, then why haven't Rhodes come out and pledged his future to Huddersfield?
patrickvalery Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 If Alan Nixon is getting his stories from Kean sources he'd have ditched the source months ago. Because his success rate has fallen well below the 20% glory days!!
