Just to put any deal for Rhodes to any club in the 6-8 million bracket into perspective...I just read that Wickham's move last summer was the record for a Football League player moving to the Premiership, at about 8 million (potentially rising to 12). Should Rhodes really be in a similar bracket if he has just played his first Championship game?

I won't lose sleep on missing out on Rhodes. I'm sure he's handy but you can't pay £8m for such unproven players. I'm sure he'll come good at this level but that's serious money for us to spend considering how little we've spent over the past 4/5 years. I'd be very surprised if there aren't more established strikers available for similar amounts of money.

I think its been rejected as we probably been telling everyone we are bidding high but actually bidding 3m. Baring in mind Kean thought Beckham and Ronaldinho were realistic targets and we put flattering offers on the table for both of them, when in actual fact AC Milan said we had no contact with club, agent or player the whole Rhodes 6.5m is probably a massive lie too.

Hopefully the bid has been accept by HT.

if not, then we need to move on and go for either Jay Bothroyd or Frazier Campbell.

would anybody go for Connor Wickham from Sunderland? suppose to be available for loan by them if they sign a striker. just agreed a fee for SF. so could be a option.

i posted this a while back , i was told off someone at the Sunderland end , Rovers did make an enquiry in last 2-3 weeks , Sunderland are willing to let him go as long as they get back most of what they paid , Rovers only interested in loan , thats was the end , but he was on the list , this was before they signed Saha and further Fletcher bids , if nothing happens between now and end of window regards Rhodes then maybe Rovers may re-visit that possibility

Wolves are a divisional rival so not a chance of that happening.

All this divisional rival stuff is crap, if they had no intentions of selling him to a Championship club then there would have been no meeting today. If someone pays the money, he's off

Jordan Rhodes was seen at Ewood tonight by numerous Rovers fans

More likely that someone tweeted it and then people used that as a source and then all of a sudden one source becomes several

Of course they did!! Laughable to be honest. These would be the fans that wouldn't know the difference between Jordan Rhodes and King Hussain of Jordan!! I sat next to Captain Caveman but soon realised it was Fat Rao's missing ponytail!!

This is one of the most boring ongoing transfer sagas I can recall

agree, we have offered more than fair offer for rhodes, its not a surprise no one else is coming in for him, because they realise we are offering more than he is worth and still getting rejected. Move on, there are plenty of other strikers we can get in that price range that can do the same job.

I think you are being very unfair Tom...it is clearly the most boring ongoing transfer saga in recollection.

Not to mention it can't possibly ever happen (with us being divisional rivals and all that).
