It´s ongoing just by Rovers. They said no and yet Rovers keep knocking out the door.

agreed.

I realise many thought I was in cloud cook-coo land when I first entered this debate on your forum, I didn't mind the stick as it comes with the territory (I would have looked like a wind up).

I have a good understanding of my clubs view on the sale of Rhodes and realised that you'd not know much about Huddersfield seeing as we have just got out of league 1 after 11 years. Town though are ambitious but in a clear constructive way.

Town put an £8 million figure just after the play off final to ward any clubs off buying as we were not going to sell our prize asset when we were looking to build for the following year and be competitive in the championship. The one caveat to this was if a premiership club came in with an offer close to the £8 million mark then it was only fair on Rhodes to allow negotiations as he will want to play at the highest level.

Town were adamant that they would not sell to a divisional rival because it would damage our chances of holding our own in the championship, while at the same time would strengthen a potential rival. With regards to Rhodes, he would be playing in the same division so he wasn't increasing the standard of football he'd be playing.

If any deal was going to be done for Rhodes it would have had to be done earlier in the summer allowing us time to negotiate a replacement. Yes we have potential signings identified but full negotiations could not start until we knew that a replacement would be needed. Otherwise it could be classed as tapping up.

Rhodes will (I am almost sure, but then as I said at in some of my very first posts, nothing in the world is 100%) remain at Huddersfield until January. It is to late for Huddersfield to find a replacement. Huddersfield will not sell to a divisional rival (because of the scar of Marcus Stewart, no divisional rival will stump up the £8 million plus any premium Hoyle would but on that figure to be persuaded to sell to a rival), premiership clubs will not take an £8 million chance until he has played a few months in the championship and proved he can cut it at that level first.

That is and always has been the state of play, no matter what rumours get splashed around on twitter and what mis-information gets released from your board. As the poster I quoted above, Rovers kept this on going not Huddersfield Town. They knew the parameters of any deal at the beginning and were told clearly that he was not for sale. Huddersfield have never moved on that stance.

good luck for the season, I hope you get Kean out asap, get a manager who knows what his is doing and has full control of the club and transfer policy. The venkeys spend some money and step back and allow the new manager to manage the club and you finally get back to being a functional community based football with fans and club united. Its a long path but you'll get there eventually, I hope.

Regards

Ben

I have to say Ben, thanks for your kind wishes etc, but I'm wondering why you want to spend so much time in our forum repeating yourself. You've made the same points many times now. If you're so sure he isn't coming here, why don't you go and find something else to do with your time? In the nicest way.

My god just go away...how boring and smug! Fact is and not sayin anyone will but if a 'rival' came in and said 'we will give you 10m' he would be gone in a heartbeat...your posts are ridiculous!! Go back to your Hudds thread and talk about your league 1 return!

Latest on this, if this falls through, Rovers WILL be signing Guidetti instead permanent if the fee is right but possibly just on loan for now

If it's true let's hope the Rhodes deal falls through then.

20 goals in 23 games for one of the best clubs in the Eredivision or top scorer for a tin pot club in a tin pot league. I know which I'd rather have.

Guidetti on loan sounds perfect.

I don't see the point in signing someone permanently when Best will be fit again in 6 months.

So we'll have 2 decent strikers?

I wish we'd either pay Huddersfield what they want for Rhodes or or if it is a genuine non starter stop wasting our time and look elsewhere.

Someone mentioned Kenwyne Jones yesterday who I think would be an excellent shout. Although I do seem to have it in the back of my mind he's also a bit injury prone. Is that right?

Brave to claim that we WILL be signing Guidetti. Based on what? Shebby saying so?
