That reg is not possible

Thought so, the current UK system is the first time so many "characters" can be used but even that requires the 4th & 5th to be numbers, & I can't conceive how the n & t can be construed as any numbers. Even the counties of Ireland dont permit that combination

Where was he?

I was on Darwen Street, near Postal Order waiting cross over at traffic lights and Bentley was waiting at traffic lights. It was definitely him, I shouted "wheeeey Bentley" and he laughed and then turned away.

Why would he be in Blackburn, surely he should have been training with Spurs in the morning.

That reg is not possible

Why is it not?

The number plate is not possible ads. Just not legally possible. However I have no doubt you saw him just that you're mistaken on the number plate. There are some similar combinations but an old style plate would be 1 letter followed by 1 or 2 numbers and then 3 more letters. A new style plate would be two letters followed by two numbers and then another 3 letters.

There are exceptions to this but the number plate you mentioned is just not a legal mix.

However I think it's been mentioned on another thread that he has family in the north west. Probably just visiting.

Other combinations are four numbers and two letters, or two letters and 4 numbers. Whilst numbers could be used as letters I cannot see how it could be achieved.

A note of caution for me is that Guidetti scored 10 or so of his goals in 3 matches against lower table opposition, consecutive hat tricks is a feat in itself but only tells half of the story when his 22 goals tally is bandied around.

Well, with us being a lower league team surely that bodes well?

Still think we will get rhodes on deadline day

You might, but to be honest I sincerely hope you don't. The one thing that has clearly shone through in this never ending saga is the absolute arrogance of Blackburn Rovers. Management and fans alike clearly believe that little old Huddersfield should just roll over and let their prize asset go for a song. You also seriously under-estimate the integrity of the lad himself. Yes, an offer of £35k a week goes way beyond what we could ever pay him, but he signed a contract at Huddersfield and he has already publicly stated that he is very happy to stay put. He will move only with the consent of Huddersfield Town, no matter how much you might otherwise think.

Apart from scoring 40 plus goals for a "tinpot league one outfit" he has also shone for Scotland U'21s and recently opened his account with the senior side. Jordan Rhodes is absolute quality and if Blackburn Rovers want to sign him they should show a little respect and make a realistic offer. We are financially stable and don't need to sell, so stump up the cash or go away!

Get over yourself, mate. Football is as it is. We've been in your position many times. Whether or not the bids that have been publicised are 'realistic' or 'respectful' for a player just coming up from League One is open to conjecture. I personally think its an obscenely high amount of money but I don't doubt the player has quality.

But for you to feel like your club is being expected to roll over and let a coveted player leave when a bid comes in, well thats been our life as a smaller club in the Premier League for some time now. We have watched just about every one of our very good players get poached- and often for less than what we, as fans, think they are worth. Its the way it is. Deal with it.

Having said all that - I do agree that in their public statements and way of working the current Rovers hierarchy have shown themselves up through this protracted process. A bit embarrassing really.

Oh come off it. A song? 6.5 million, if true, is hardly a song. It's a very very fair offer for a player with absolute minimal experience outside of League One. If you want to reject it, I think there's very few of us holding that against you, we know it's entirely your decision. You'll always get idiot fans who want to hold it against you that you dared to reject it, just as some of your dumber fans have been furious that we dared to bid for him. But the majority get it. And some of that majority feel you're being foolish, strategically, to reject it. They may be proven right, they may be proven wrong. But to believe it isn't arrogance. Some of our fans rate our own players who have higher proven pedigree than Rhodes in lower price brackets. So you can get stuffed with the accusation of arrogance from the fans- our fans are some of the most modest in the Football League by and large. Our management haven't conducted themselves well with these public statements about the player, but that happens a LOT in football. Harry Redknapp is awful for it and doesn't even follow up half his interest.

As to the integrity of the lad, if you'd been at the gravy train end of football as long as we have, you'd know how little that can mean. Brad Friedel was Mr Blackburn Rovers, never thought he'd leave for money, and yet he went when his wages were doubled, to a slightly bigger club. Shearer was 'very happy to stay put', as you put it, right up until Newcastle bid, then he was off without a sorry. Phil Jones, who was even a FAN of the club, and by all accounts very grounded and humble, left to one of the teams we hate most as soon as he could. I could name a ton more examples. If you think our fans are arrogant, yours are deluded to think that 35k isn't extremely tempting to him. If he gets that offer from a Prem club he will really kick off, I guarantee it. No matter how much 'integrity' you think he has.

Scotland are shocking, his minimal international contributions so far are of almost no consequence. Especially the U-21 experience, are you having a laugh? Maceo Rigters really shone at tournament level for a far better U-21 side than Scotland's, taking the Golden Boot, and he was gash. Struggling to get signed by League One sides last I heard. David Goodwillie has played more games for the senior Scotland squad than Rhodes, and we don't rate him. Honestly, absolutely nobody is raving about Rhodes' international credentials.

The Scottish national team is so weak that it means very little.

The lad is not worth £6 million.

Aww bless.

Bigger clubs have been doing it to us for years, there's a food chain in football, get over it!

I understand how you feel, truly, but with the parameters of this day and age you've already gotten more mileage out of Rhodes than anyone could realistically hope for. Our last prized asset went to Manchester United without even completeing a full season for us!

Personally I think you have a point. This situation would never have occured in the past regarding rovers.

Signing a player was a generally private affair between the upper management of the clubs.

For the last 2 years everything gets played out in the mdeia and we do look like an arrogant club (in my view).

Add to that keans ability to have a microphone under his nose 24 hours a day makes things worse.

I used to be proud to read other clubs comments about rovers dealings in the transfer market. It was almost always positive.

Now we are a joke in so may ways including our transfer dealings.

Oh look another Huddersfield fan with an attitude problem acting as if it is US FANS that are personally trying to bid for Rhodes, serously if you have a problem you should be writing to Venkys (I would say write to Kean but he has a lot of mail to go through already) Seriously write to them and wait VERY patiently for your reply.

On Rhodes, I dont think he is that good and definatly not worth 6 million, I dont think he has enough about his game just another Goodwillie. He will struggle against stronger defence.
