Rovers_Dan Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 According to the Nicko, Wickham has been cleared for loan by S/Land, got until midnight to register for tomorrow. We have more chance of signing Alan Wicker
Mullionvagrant Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 We should offer M.Owen a contract he would have a field day still in the championship and maybe even a play for pay deal for hargreaves and also offer Hesky (Yes Hesky-he can hold the ball up and lay it off something we haven't currently got upfront). Big Sam had it sussed with his policy of bringing in old but quality players at Bolton. All free contracts-o.k huge wages but gotta be worth the risk for promotion on short term contracts with no long term wage bill if we don't see promotion. Gotta be better than 6-million +4 year contract and 35,000 a week for Rhodes. Any others out there worth a punt.. Warnock for sure!!!

Was just going to suggest Owen, if he doesn't have an offer from a Premiership club this week then he would have no choice but to drop down if he wants to play. If we were offering big wages to Rhodes then offer the same to Owen. Would love to have him at Rovers, even if he isn't the same player as he used to be.
67splitscreen Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Early days but Nicko suggesting that Goodie is interesting Southampton "bizarre" his words.

Owen has already heavily suggested that he would rather retire than drop down to the Championship

I know he used to play a bit before joining Take That but I think Mark Owen has long since swapped his stadia usage. Forget Hargreaves, just get Grella back on pay-as-you-play. He knows the club - and the physios - and could hit the rehab walking (gingerly). Why not get Paul Walsh and Ian Rush to dust of their boots and call us Black...er...pool? Big Sam was able to get the best out of ageing quality, not ageing liabilities.
dwayne cage Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Wouldn't believe anything Nicko says. If he said " Christmas is in December" I would check the calender to make sure! Hasn't Michael Owen expressed he only wants to play top flight football?
Backroom Tom Posted August 26, 2012 Backroom Posted August 26, 2012 To be fair Dwayne not many know what is going on There isn't an in the know or a journo out there that hasn't predicted things that have failed to happen at ewood this summer
dwayne cage Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 True I suppose, I guess nobody is actually in the know.
Lathund Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Wouldn't believe anything Nicko says. If he said " Christmas is in December" I would check the calender to make sure! Use the Julian calendar to make sure he's wrong.
Nobert Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Luke Moore=Realistic but he's poo. Billy Sharp=I'd have him Ricky Lambert=Definately would have him, but why leave a Premier League team you're likely to play in? Michael Owen=Washed up race horse owner. Waste of time.
dwayne cage Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 http://m.skysports.com/article/football//8019601 Owen seems to think he'll be at a Prem club by Friday. (Sorry I can only post the mobile link)
Nobert Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Oddschecker has him odds on to sign for Stoke. Not sure which bookies it was, but it was 8/13, with Villa up there at 4/1. We were quoted at 100/1 for anyone who is interested.
Backroom Tom Posted August 26, 2012 Backroom Posted August 26, 2012 If stoke get any more strikers lets test their arm for Kenwyn Jones
Mercer Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Seems as though something is close: Andrew Cryer@CryerRovers In tmrws lt - see the next probable signing at rovers. Night all

67splitscreen Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Explains Shabs exit from the country Friday?
roverandout Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 i see all the excuses will be in already, 'we tried to sign players but clubs wouldn't sell'. we will end up with a couple of no-marks that won't even get off the bench and we will have to rely on rubbish like goodwillie and gomes
Josh Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 i see all the excuses will be in already, 'we tried to sign players but clubs wouldn't sell'. we will end up with a couple of no-marks that won't even get off the bench and we will have to rely on rubbish like goodwillie and gomes Yes because Gomes is rubbish
roverandout Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 gomes is ok but i wouldn't rely on him to lead the line all season, you get the jist of what i am trying to say
XLM Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 He isn't here to lead the line. Do you actually think before you post anything?
roverandout Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 i know he isnt, i am saying he will be if rovers decide against bringing in a quality striker, do u ever think before u type?
