why do rovers always leave things to the last minute? always digging their heels in, most clubs get the bulk of their business done around july, early august and rovers always end up panic buying

why is the rhodes topic locked? nicko and a few others seem to think it hasnt run its course yet

Rhodes won't be signing that's why, no chance. I'd say we've signed some good players this window, just unfortunate to lose two good strikers to injury. We've had no choice but to make a last rush for a striker.

So they can appear to be after a player and when the window closes say we were working on bringing players in but we ran out of time. Thus ending up with no one and putting a positive spin on it.

On that reason we might as well close the Lambert thread as well!

We are only after 1 striker. Kaz has said hes aiming to be fit for Leeds match.

I hope we bring in a quality striker. I would rather Rovers spend longer on looking for a good striker than them buying some garbage.

Not being offensive, but you actually think we can sign Lambert?

I think to be fair - they didn't this season - but have been unlucky that Best got injured in the way he did - otherwise there wouldn't be so much emphasis on getting in a new striker.

Would not surprise me at all to see Givet leave (Villa, Southampton or back to France) hence the new centre half being touted about.

I also think that Nzonzi & Olsson will leave in last minute deals.

Feels like we will be scrambling about again at the death with the likes of the new 'Modeste' being introduced as 'saviours'.

no we shouldn't

I'd take any of the QPR players being forced out

Why's that? He's better than the QPR dross that your keen on, plus he's a big guy that can hold the ball up.

Bentner has the biggest ego for someone with the most average talent. I doubt he'd go to Reading, Norwich or Southampton nevermind a Championship club.

He can score some magical goals and then a huge amount of games missing sitters and blasting it over from shots miles out which could provide a goal scoring opportunity if he passed.

his Ego would never allow him to play outside of the top league. That's what I was basing my answer on.

The QPR players would all play at this level and have done before.

Think the CH could be Hughes, even though he has been starting for FFC, would appease Kean if he gets another of his own picks.

Another poss Leon Barnett CH, RB, LB, MF right up our street.

I agree with most on here we really should be looking at players like Bothroyd and Campbell who have been released by QPR.

Both are proven at this level both have scored goals for fun with Cardiff & Blackpool respectively and would no doubt be able to hit the ground running.

However I do believe Sheff Utd were struggling to acquire Bothroyd because he was looking for the same wages he was on at QPR at 30 grand a week so how feasible that is I don't know.

Campbell might be more within reach but hey we obviously love paying top wages. One thing that is a plus is they would not need anytime to adapt as they are experienced at this level and it would leave more dosh in the pot for other more important positions.
