Ruaney Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 How about Guidetti and Rhodes together? If that happens I will eat one of my toes! That would literally be too good to be true!!
dwayne cage Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 John Guidetti's proposed loan move from Manchester City to Sunderland could be in jeopardy because the 20-year-old Swedish striker is struggling to shake off a virus. Full story: Daily Mail Doubt we will be able to get him if we are in competition with Sunderland anyway
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Loan bid rejected: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1133389?cc=5739
Eddie Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If Guidetti is available at £6m then we should be moving straight in for that.
andyroversmad Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If we got £6M to spend on Rhodes why not on Guidetti ? Never seen him play but from his video clips he looks class
Torgeir Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I doubt he would want to make the drop down to the Championship, but we should atleast try and make a firm offer for him and see how it goes. I'd rather we sign Guidetti than Rhodes.
Dunnfc Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Guidetti every time over Rhodes. Good to see some ambition to sign players tbh as long as its not false.
Lathund Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 If he's indeed available for £6m we should definitely go for him rather than Rhodes. People can do silly things like bring up Kezman and Alves all they want, but 20 goals and 8 assists in 23 games in Holland is a damn good record for an on-loan 19 year old with almost no previous experience of senior football. I don't see him dropping down a division though. Nor do I see us actually paying £6m for a player.
Hughesy Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Not convinced we have £6m hard cash upfront....hence the haggling with Huddersfield - i.e. £3m + £2m, £4m + £2m, and now £5m + £1m.
dwayne cage Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I agree I don't think we do have 6m straight up. I think City would accept a smaller bid maybe 4m if we tried, after all it's not like money is a thing that matters to them anyway. Their owner's probably wipe their backsides with a million every day haha
roverandout Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 guidetti in talks with sunderland according to nicko
dwayne cage Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 guidetti in talks with sunderland according to nicko Then he's probably in talks with Wolfsberg
Ruaney Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Then he's probably in talks with Wolfsberg +10454
he6rt6gr6m Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 He's definitely close to Siena, according to many in Italy.
The Rover of Finland Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Isn´t he still at City? What a waste of talent. Could we still loan him, not aware when that option end. I know, the clown said the squad is ready.

I know, the clown said the squad is ready. Injured! as of last week, well that is when I asked Nicko if he thought he would be loaned out.
Clitherover Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Man City have put him up for loan and we're interested again apparently... http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/blackburn-rovers-fc/1213325-blackburn-rovers-target-manchester-city-striker-guidetti.html? The journalists name ''Failsworth'' doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
bluebruce Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 How would we possibly be interested again? Rhodes and Gomes firing them in, Kazim Richards and Best (eventually) in the wings. Rochina, Formica and Dunn can all play behind the striker. We can probably recall Goodwillie. There's absolutely no need for another striker. There IS a dire, dire need for defensive reinforcements, but we've said we don't even want those. Probably true then
