T4E Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Very sad news on SSN that Sid Waddell has passed away aged 72. He had been ill for a while, the last time I read anything about it he seemed to be recovering. Sid made watching the darts on Sky Sports a million times more enjoyable than it would have been without him, a lot of the success darts has experienced is owed in some way to him. Thoroughly entertaining and a seemingly great bloke, he'll be sadly missed. Goodbye Sid, RIP.

Backroom Mike E Posted August 12, 2012 Backroom Posted August 12, 2012 'Wade is like a man trying to eat candy floss in a hadron collider!' A sad loss for television, for the art of punditry and commentary, for darts and for sport. A great man.
Sandiway Blue Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 R.I.P Sid. Hugely entertaining listening to his commentary and irreplaceable. http://www.xlab.co.uk/extras/quotes/?source=waddell Some of his finest work...
Salgado Is A Hero Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 "He's buzzing like a wasp on speed" - I think that was him.....R.I.P
