The team put out should have thrashed Ipswich hands down.

No it shouldn't. Kean assembled a poor Premier League side which took us down. That starting XI has key flaws and is not good enough to win 'hands down' at any average Championship club. Don't overhype them.

Just got back from Portman Road.

Positives: The fans.

Negatives: EVERYTHING ELSE.

Anyone, and I mean anyone, who thinks we are getting out of this division with the bald illegitimate in charge are setting themselves up for some major disappointment.

Let me be clear: Ipswich were terrible. This was Ipswich Town on an off day - AND WE NEARLY LOST THE MATCH. In fact, we SHOULD have lost the match. The last 10 minutes Ipswich had multiple chances to win but fluffed their chances because they were rubbish. I appreciate the weather would have played a part, but if we cannot beat THAT Ipswich team we're in serious trouble. But then, those of us who hadn't wiped last season from their mind already knew that.

Every issue from last season STILL REMAINS. Everything that enraged me about the way we played continues to permeate. The team are a shapeless, slow, uncreative mess. The Ipswich fans around me were stunned, absolutely stunned, as how awful we were. I had to explain calmly that this is why the Rovers fans want Kean Out. God knows what formation we were attempting to play, we looked a shambles in terms of shape.

Our issues stem from the fact we are unable to keep possession. Our players are petrified of the ball and regularly punt it aimlessly up the pitch, losing possession almost every time. I'm not sure we created a single chance from open play - this is mainly because we lack any creativity whatsoever. It's painful to watch our players attempt to carve out a chance and sometimes amusing in a macabre way when they inevitably feck it up. Oh, and we are also the SLOWEST team in the entire divison, surely? We desperately need a quick player, and can only pray Rhodes does come here because otherwise I fail to see how we're going to overcome the handicap of possessing zero speed.

To grade the players:

Robbo: 7 - Did nothing wrong as such. Irritated at his aimless punts up the pitch every single time which lose possession but assume that's a tactic he's following.

Orr - 6 - He's about at his level. Fouls a lot to make up for being stupid.

Givet - 7 - Solid.

Dann - 6 - Fine, got caught out a couple of times at the end.

Lowe - 7 - Did OK.

Pedersen - 5 - Other than a couple of dangerous corners he was very poor. Tried a nutmeg at one point and ran so slowly the Ipswich player was able to turn around and get the ball before Pedersen got there.

Murphy - 6 - Industrial, a few wayward passes.

Etuhu - 6 - Same as above.

Nuno Gomes - 5 - Looked uncomfortable in the role he was asked to play (whatever that was). Slow, left chasing shadows for most of the game.

Formica - 4 - Awful. Mauro lost the ball basically every time he got it. Looked slow, awkward and fouled a lot. No surprise he was subbed.

Colin Kazim-Richards - 7 - Worked hard, scored a goal. He did as well as could be expected.

Dunn and Marcus Ollson had no impact. CBA to rate them.

As a sidenote: the Rovers fans were excellent. Loud, proud and supporting the team throughout. Not enough 'Kean/Venky's Out' for my liking but I cannot fault the support given to the team, even though they didn't deserve it. Well done lads.

I don't think I've ever hated someone as much as I hate Kean. There will actually be a day of celebration in Blackburn when that tw@ has gone.

That will depend whether there is a club left by the time he scurries off.

Anyone know what gobsh**e he spouted after that?

Basically if Kazim-Richards scores his second chance its game over. However we sat too deep once both Murphy and Etuhu had been booked. Tough place to come. Not many teams will win here . blah blah blah.

They lost 7 of their 13 home games in the league last season. The man is truly deluded

Edit: the table I looked at is well off for some reason, when I find the real one I'll post the results

Edit 2: The table only goes up to 27 games played and they had lost 7 of 13 home games, so I imagine it gets worse

So the positives to take from today's game:

Kazim-Richards has improved dramatically since the last time I saw him. Excellent today.

Scott Dann looked really good.

We didn't lose unlike the other two relegated teams.

We still have martin Olsson, Nunes, vuckevic, rochina, best, and hopefully Rhodes to come back into the squad.

Need to get more creativity onto the wings. Formica is useless and always has been and pedersen is only good at set pieces. Nunes and vuckevic need to start on the wings and we need to put givet at left back until Olsson is back.
