Why the kean is Shearer using a PL trophy to "woo" Geordie fans? Is it some kind of Jim Bowen-esque dig or what? If you want to show off a trophy, Alan, at least have the respect to do so with fans of the club who won it.

Ol Big ed!

tbh he and the Chronicle are very respectful of our achievement. Plus we've seen it first hand....the Geordies and Mackems never will. Thats the nearest they are ever likely to get to it.

David Gold talking a lot more sense on Football Focus about Big Sam than any West Ham fans!!

Apparently they were appalling today. Nothing balls pumped up to the front man, no support from midfield. What a surprise.

Hmm, that is a bit of a surprise to me who was a regular during his days at Ewood, and I'm sure to any Bolton fans, here I enjoyed his football much more than anything seen since, and he got the best from Dunn, a brief Indian Summer from Pedersen and the best form of Martin Olsson's career.

That's not saying a lot, is it?

Allardyce is hugely overrated, at least by his personal fanclub on here. He can only keep teams up by playing his sorry excuse for football. Even when he had the likes of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Anelka et al. at Bolton (which they paid through the nose for) they still hardly played scintillating stuff.

a) How did you know how bad it was here?

B) If you weren't paying to watch, surely only the results matter?

c) What is entertaining football? Some people want Barca style passing, some are bored to death by it. The only thing everyone agrees on is that winning feels better than losing/drawing.

His football is not that bad, it is not 100% hoofball like people make out.

This wonderful medium called the internet.

B) If you weren't paying to watch, surely only the results matter?

So you're only allowed a critical opinion if you paid to watch?

Ah, the old false dichotomy. Criticizing percentage football =/= wanting Barca Rovers.

His football is not that bad, it is not 100% hoofball like people make out.

A glowing testimonial if ever I saw one.

Did you watch the games? If so then fair enough, but I thought it was entertaining, not perfect but we had limited resources. You also seem to have an agenda regarding him as you get involved in every debate regarding him.

So you're only allowed a critical opinion if you paid to watch?

I never said that. Surely though if you aren't going to watch, then the performance isn't something you need to 'tolerate.'

Ah, the old false dichotomy. Criticizing percentage football =/= wanting Barca Rovers.

My point was, there is no specific definition of good football.

A glowing testimonial if ever I saw one.

Thats the point, I never said it was perfect, or that it was brilliant. But not only did it get results, which is the crucial thing, and we did mix it up.

not surprise that WBA have sacked Clarke tbh. contract up at end of the season. wouldn't be surprise to see WBA go for Glenn Hoddle as head coach. excellent coach and should be in management

The WBA chairman has panic and only 2 points of relegation zone and must stay in the league.

Steve Clarke;s record in 2013 is awful. on based on that record probably deserve to be sacked.

Games 34 won 7 drawn 10 lost 17 Points 31.

wouldn't be surprise to see Sam Allardyce the next manager sack in the PL. not doing well and fans don't like his long ball football. not the west Ham way of football. this is what I have heard a lot of West Ham fans said on Radio phone ins on Radio 5 live and Talksport aswell

  • Moderation Lead

West Ham fans are deluded clowns with delusions of grandeur.

They're having an absolute 'mare of late and to be fair Allardyce has to shoulder some of the blame for relying so heavily on a hugely injury prone striker like Carroll, with little or no backup....

Interesting. I was shocked to see he'd been sacked initially but that is a very poor recent record. It'll be interesting to see who they bring in.

WBA is the club that got some bad calls against them. Don't want to make excuses but they did complain to the FA. At least one bad call, vs. Chelsea. Not sure if I like this news.

Agree. this season the margins have been very fine, and a bit of big club bias and shocking refereeing has probably cost WBA a lot of points. Certainly enough to change poor form into decent.

Also Clarke is considered a highly promising young manager who's done it "the proper way" being an assistant and working up to being number one. Coupled with a decent season last season, and the bad calls, I'm sorry to see him go.
