Backroom DE. Posted December 22, 2013 Backroom Posted December 22, 2013 @SkySportsPeteO: Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan lifts threat of sack on Malky Mackay: As things stand he is in charge for foreseeable future. #CCFC Realised Mackay wasn't going to resign and didn't want to pay the compo to sack him, simple as that. Possibly also a little rattled by the massive negative nationwide reaction to his pathetic form of ownership. It still isn't going to end well, but if Tan wants Mackay out he's going to have to pay him.

Guest Norbert Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Realised Mackay wasn't going to resign and didn't want to pay the compo to sack him, simple as that. Possibly also a little rattled by the massive negative nationwide reaction to his pathetic form of ownership. It still isn't going to end well, but if Tan wants Mackay out he's going to have to pay him. Tan is probably going to be sniping and undermining Mackay from behind the scenes to force him out. Tan seems to be dead set on 'winning' this situation, and the phrase 'foreseeable future' probably means he'll start having a go again if they get tonked 5-0 at any time.
Backroom DE. Posted December 22, 2013 Backroom Posted December 22, 2013 Mackay will stick to his guns. If he was going to quit he would have done it by now imo. I think Tan will probably end up sacking him, though.

Backroom Tom Posted December 23, 2013 Backroom Posted December 23, 2013 Now we see why spuds wanted so much money for him Sherwood full time manager appointed till the end of next season
Backroom DE. Posted December 23, 2013 Backroom Posted December 23, 2013 Bonkers decision and will probably cost them any chance of a top four place. Good news for Manchester United though. It'll be interesting to see how Tim gets on, but I wonder if his appointment is mostly down to other managers flat out telling Spurs they aren't interested?
Amo Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 What a farce. Just proves Spurs had no one lined up and the decision to sack AVB was a complete kneejerker.
Dunnfc Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Think AVB must have said something to Levy and obviously Levy wanted Adebayor playing who hadn't made the pitch this year until Timmy Sherwood rocked up. Good luck to Sherwood, would have loved him to come here!
Stuart Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 What a farce. Just proves Spurs had no one lined up and the decision to sack AVB was a complete kneejerker. Reminds me of something...
chaddyrovers Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 said when AVB was sacked that I expected Sherwood would get the job. I was right there. good to see Spurs appoint a young English coach instead of appointing a foreign coach/manager. look at how much experience Mourinho or Guardiola have before getting Manager job. I think Guardiola had 1 year as Barcelona B team manager before getting the top job there. Sherwood has been at Spurs 5 years as a coach. lets see how well he does. not saying he will be as good as Guardiola but I think he will be better than AVB ever was there. look like Sherwood has install some much need discipline into the squad http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10536214/Tim-Sherwood-appointed-as-Tottenham-Hotspur-head-coach-until-the-end-of-next-season.html http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/comment-giving-tim-sherwood-the-tottenham-job-on-fulltime-basis-should-not-seem-so-outlandish-9020996.html
DanLad Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Now we see why spuds wanted so much money for him Sherwood full time manager appointed till the end of next season I've read he's been appointed head coach. A different role to a manager, I think. They are trying to emulate a European model, I suspect.
John Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Just shows Shebby's judgement was right all along...
matt83 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I think this is an interesting appointment. Even since the Venky scum took over and sacked fat Sam I've craved an experienced man to steady the ship and whilst I really liked berg, McKinley, Sherwood, etc, as players I was unconvinced (to say the least) at the prospect of any of them managing us. So with him getting a crack at a club infinitely bigger than ours maybe was right man wrong time for us. Either way hope he does well with what is a tremendous opportunity for him. Not saying he'll be the next pep guardiola but think I'm right in saying guardiola was promoted to Barca 1st team after doing well with the u21s similar to Sherwood at spurs. Time will tell...
John Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 @FulhamFC: Fulham Football Club has confirmed it has appointed Alan Curbishley as First Team Technical Director. #ffc #coyw http://t.co/q58o2A7YR1
Backroom Mike E Posted December 25, 2013 Backroom Posted December 25, 2013 What a stupid title. Bit harsh. 'Premier League Happenings' is alright imo.
Audax Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Can you believe that Own Goal in this Hull/MUFC match. Hmmn
Backroom DE. Posted December 26, 2013 Backroom Posted December 26, 2013 Hull scored their goals too early. Nowhere near enough mental fortitude in that team to sustain a 2-0 lead for 75+ mins against the likes of United. I remember a lot of people bashing Spurs for letting Livermore and Huddlestone go on loan to Hull fact is for both it's about their level.
Audax Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 West Ham should just stay with Allardyce all the same unless they started being the anchor of the League and 5 points at least from safety. Arsenal of course is in first currently. http://int.soccerway.com/matches/2013/12/26/england/premier-league/west-ham-united-fc/arsenal-fc/1483636/ Hammers must be shifting their selection quite a bit, one match, they did not start many home-nations players, today, 6 England, 1 Northern Ireland, 1 Wales, 1 ROI. 9 Players. Looks like they have West Brom and Fulham coming up and Fulham won today. So big matches. It would seem they should keep with Big Sam for those.
