Gav Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Had some respect for Moyes until he told lies in the press about the abuse Kean got at the Bolton match a few years ago. Get ready for some abuse of your own Moyes, the glory hunters are getting restless!

Stuart Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 @bigadamsport: John Williams, former Blackburn chairman, born in Southampton, is a contender for chief exec role at #saintsfc - would be a top appointment He's had seriously itchy feet since he left us.
47er Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 That's old. Neil Ruddock told that one on Soccer AM years back. Apparently McAteer's nickname was "Trigger" at Bolton, but when he moved to Liverpool, Rob Jones had the same nickname, so they called him "Dave" instead. I can't find the vid on Youtube anymore, though. There were a couple of other classics on there. McAteer was notoriously thick. When he applied for a credit card the bank questionnaire asked "What is your current position?". McAteer wrote "midfield"!
yoda Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 He's had seriously itchy feet since he left us. If the lunes have learned anything they should be on the blower
Amo Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Can't see Madame grovelling to JW to come back, can you? Besides, he never "toed the line".
yoda Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Can't see Madame grovelling to JW to come back, can you? Besides, he never "toed the line". Well if there is one thing you can count on with the lunes it is unpredictability
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I would imagine JW has got more dignity, brains and sheer common sense than to come back to Circus Ewood. Is he still at Man City?
Stuart Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Head of a referees' org last time I heard.
Parsonblue Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 @bigadamsport: John Williams, former Blackburn chairman, born in Southampton, is a contender for chief exec role at #saintsfc - would be a top appointment Hope he gets that job as Southampton is the club that John supported in his younger days. A shrewd appointment by the Saints. Pity Desai and the other clowns in Pune couldn't grasp that in the likes of John Williams, Tom Finn, Martin Goodman etc. they had the people in place to run the club for them and they could have saved themselves millions.
speeeeeeedie Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Another smile as Man U lost again, and looked decidedly average doing it too. Happy days. Phil Jones did not look good at all.
FGS5635 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Another smile as Man U lost again, and looked decidedly average doing it too. Happy days. Phil Jones did not look good at all. Big summer for jones really. If vidic and rio go he may become the full time centre back he should be. If united keep messing him about then he should really ask for a transfer
Al Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Could be a few asking for transfers. The end of Manu dominance has to be good for competition in the Premier League.
M-K Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ahh, the curse of the point-and-shoot digital camera - by the time the damned thing has started up, the fun is almost over.
Audax Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 "Hughton out" banner at a Norwich match. They are 12th. I can understand discontent but still. Story at the BBC. I do see their GD, goal difference is at -17 which is among the worse in the league, tied with Palace, only Cardiff -21 and Fulham, -26 is worse if that would make a big difference with supporters. http://int.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-league/20132014/regular-season/r21322/?ICID=HP_POP_01 Interactive table, just click the "D" with mouse to see the league order. Rovers, Leeds, 0 goal differential. http://int.soccerway.com/national/england/championship/20132014/regular-season/r21389/
Paul Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 PLEASE lets not start any form of racist / semitic debate but I'm interested to know if anyone had heard of or seen this "quenelle" gesture before? Apparently it was orginated by Dieudonné, Anelka's friend, in 2005 and is now seen as antisemitic. I can't help but feel this has been blown out of all proportion and if anything will encourage its use.

I can't help but feel this has been blown out of all proportion and if anything will encourage its use. The thing that got me was that it happened the other week, the FA haven't done anything since. Then yesterday Zoopla stopped the sponsorship (their contract was due up anyway so they've hardly 'pulled out' as was stated) and now today the FA charge him.
Stuart Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 I think Zoopla have talked it up to avoid bad publicity by not sponsoring West Brow next season.
FGS5635 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Not convinced it was bad publicity for Zoopla, but they have certainly dropped on a load of free PR with this supposed pull out
Guest Norbert Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Well reading his wikipedia page, you could say he started out quite radical and basically like a Frankie Boyle 'shock' comedian, but then became more anti-Semitic and more like the far right in France. Not a wise choice to promote in a goal celebration.

Backroom Mike E Posted January 21, 2014 Backroom Posted January 21, 2014 Was it deliberately that signal? Or was it like that pic of Joey Barton celebrsting with an arm-raised while pointing at his tash?
M-K Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 They're always going on about quenelles on Masterchef. The BBC should get Anelka on the celebrity version of that - it'd be carnage in the tabloids.
