Paul Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Good signing for Utd but £37 million is ridiculous. I wouldn't pay over £25 million for him. A bargain then!!

Rover_Shaun Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Juan Mata was fined by the police last night for doing a U-turn on the M6
yoda Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I really hope a couple of people are in work today. It would be hilarious to watch. show them this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25844751 more signs of decline
M-K Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25844751 more signs of decline It says: "Despite falling down the pecking order, United's revenues increased from 395.9m euros to 423.8m euros." Which puts them 7.4m euros behind third-placed Bayern Munich and 107.6m euros above the next placed English club (whose revenues were artificially inflated by a massive FFP-avoiding self-sponsorship shirt deal)
Guest Norbert Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-25858527 What a nob!
G Somerset Rover Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 A bargain then!! Absolutely not. But you'd have to say that £25 million, or around that figure, would be reasonable value in today's market. Close to £40 million is just madness.
FGS5635 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Got to love all the pundits and journos saying mata could be a key signing. I'd freakin hope so for 40 million
Eddie Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 No more so than people saying that United look pretty average withou Van Persie and Rooney. Barcelona look a bit average without Messi and Neymar. City don't look nearly as good without Toure and Aguero. Bayern don't look as good without Ribery and Robben. Obviously United have more holes than the rest of those teams, but if you take the two best players out of any team for practically half a season they will struggle to compete at anywhere the same level. Their central midfield is amazingly uncreative, I'm a bit surprised that they are spending so much on Mata (although he will be good for them) before brining someone in to play in the middle.
Audax Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I read Neymar was transferred for £48.6m, he is suppose to be a wonder so if the price on Mata was £35m , Chelsea may well be profiting though that should not be a concern with a club with their funds.. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25848893 Torres 17 appearances, Mata 13. But maybe it was an injury, Mata has always been on when I've seen CFC play on TV. Maybe Chelsea are confident and they did get Eto'o. http://int.soccerway.com/teams/england/chelsea-football-club/661/
speeeeeeedie Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Can't wait to see the shootout. Sounds like there were some real Chris Waddles. I just saw them. Some absolutely shocking ones. I think 4 went over the bar. Poor De Gea. He saved 3 out of 5 and still loses.
thenodrog Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't think any of the Plastics will be feeling very sorry for De Gea . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-25858527 What a nob! C'mon Norbert...... What did you expect him to do? The Samaritans switchboard must've been jammed all night!
Backroom DE. Posted January 23, 2014 Backroom Posted January 23, 2014 I just saw them. Some absolutely shocking ones. I think 4 went over the bar. Poor De Gea. He saved 3 out of 5 and still loses. If he hadn't spilled a ridiculously easy shot it probably would never have gone to penalties tbf.
cn174 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I just caught the replay on sky sports of the penalties. It's still funny!! Been amazingly quiet around work today. Of course it's because people 'aren't bothered' about the Carling Cup

ABBEY Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I only watched the pens earlier. I've just seen Sunderland's goal. A bit dodgy.Utd fan at work reckons I was close to the mark with the they did it on purpose .All the missed pens and a under 6 goalie error . Ask DJ he will know
bazza Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm just enjoying the squirming and the pain United fans are going through. They're not used to it like a lot of other football supporters. Welcome to our world.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 23, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted January 23, 2014 If being 7th in the league and being in s cup semi final is suffering, Christ, these kids don't know they're born!!
Guest Norbert Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That Salah has moved from Basel to Chelsea for £11m. Why he went there I don't know. He'll hardly get a game with all the attacking midfielders Chelsea have. And has anyone heard about Scott Sinclair? Should we be contacting missing persons?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 23, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted January 23, 2014 He's at West Brom on loan I think, that move to Citeh worked out really well for him.....
Rover_Shaun Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 He's at West Brom on loan I think, that move to Citeh worked out really well for him..... 6 apps no goals
Guest Norbert Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 You could see that happening a mile off. He should have stayed at Swansea, and he may have been in the England squad.
old darwen blue Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Come on we all know the red rags threw the game, they didn't want to get destroyed by City in the final!
Stuart Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Not sure Hernandez read the script then.
thenodrog Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 He did try his best to miss an open goal from 6 yards out.
philipl Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Interesting take on Man U- Ferguson not only kept winning them things but aged the Glazers from the kicking they deserved. http://www.theguardian.com/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2014/jan/25/manchester-united-glazers-david-conn?CMP=fb_gu Of course Venky's would have sacked Ferguson after three weeks.
