darrenrover Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Indeed! Hasn't stopped him spaffing £27m on a midfielder he can't play, £37m on a more expensive version of a midfielder he's already got, and (supposedly) offering Wayne Rooney the keys to the kingdom. Ferguson seemed to manage okay within the constraints imposed by the parasitic owners. Couldn't give a toss regarding United's welfare but can't help but think what the media will say following the most recent share issue, instigated by the Glaziers to raise capital to further prop up their failing US businesses, allied to the shortfall in revenue from failure to qualify for Europe. Watch all and sundry squirm then!

Stuart Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 quite right M-K. Even in the stupid football market those two shouldn't have added up to even 30m for the pair in truth. By paying so much for fairly average top half Prem players Moyes is just compounding his problems imo. The whole Premier League philosophy is around overpaying for average players - usually average foreign ones at that. They bemoan the fact that decent British players are too expensive, purchase cheaper foreign players, reducing the pool (and increasing the scarecity) of young British players, and pushing up their price even further. Repeat ad nausium!
M-K Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Moyes let Fellaini's £23m release clause expire because he thought he could double up with a deal for Baines at an extra £12m. That didn't work, so he ended up giving Everton a third of the proposed Baines fee on top of what Fellaini would have cost a couple of weeks earlier. At best its incompetence from him (as the guy with inside knowledge of Everton contracts) and whoever does the negotiating. At worst it's in the "£1.6m in agents' fees for a £400k player" territory. Not to mention firing a lot of the successful coaching staff and bringing in some yes-man he's had working for him since he was at Preston. That suggests he's unwilling to learn or change.
Al Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 What can I say, I like Man Utd, or at least I don't have that weird kind of blind hatred for them that most people do.You are now displaying even more strange tendencies. Get rid of that spade.
yoda Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 You are now displaying even more strange tendencies. Get rid of that spade. and whats more, the manager they should have hired is one up at Eastlands
thenodrog Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Thought I was on the Bowyer thread for a second Al.
Backroom Tom Posted February 3, 2014 Backroom Posted February 3, 2014 Chelsea absolutely battering City but still only 1-0 Expect a city win now
thenodrog Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 and whats more, the manager they should have hired is one up at Eastlands Hmmm... Possession stats for Chelsea v West Ham was 72:28 in Chelsea's favour. It's currently 64:36 in Man City's favour. Seems Mourhino has learned much from Big Sam's "19th Century tactics"! 'Park the bus' Jose. The Sorcerers Apprentice perhaps?
jodrell Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 and whats more, the manager they should have hired is one up at Eastlands The Allianz Arena Fixed it for you.Glad they didn't .
Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Money can't buy you love, but it gets you two great managers and two excellent teams showing how football should be played, aaah those were the days....

Seems Mourhino has learned much from Big Sam's "19th Century tactics"!The Sorcerers Apprentice perhaps? Chelsea are playing nothing like West Ham did. They should be out of sight in this game. The day that Mourinho can learn anything from Allardyce hasn't dawned yet. Whether you like him or not, Mourhino is a tactical and psychological genius. I know whose teams I'd rather watch.
Mr. E Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Thank you Lord for allowing the team funded by Russian oil money to be beating the team funded by Arab oil money. Such a victory for sporting integrity to see these two top of the Premiership.

yoda Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Fixed it for you.Glad they didn't . Upton Park, Boelyn ground who cares, its not Ewood
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Wasn't it Mark Robins scoring in a cup replay at Oldham that saved Ferguson from the sack? Moyes has inherited a bigger club / better team than Ferguson did, though. I think it was an away tie at Notts Forest.

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 3, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 3, 2014 Could be worse. Could be United winning it at a canter every season without a real challenge.
SAS Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Great football contest. But what a @#/? atmosphere for a top of the league clash.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 What a performance from Hazard. He was world class tonight and the difference. Cahill and Terry also superb.
imy9 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Mourinho proving once again that he is the best manager on the planet. Tactical genius and a charismatic character to boot.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Mourinho proving once again that he is the best manager on the planet. Tactical genius and a charismatic character to boot. Aye, just behind Moyesey!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 What a performance from Hazard. He was world class tonight and the difference. Cahill and Terry also superb. I was only thinking the other day Hazard reminds me a bit of our own Bryan Douglas when he was running the show for Rovers in midfield.
patrickvalery Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 That lad Matic looks a different class. Whoever let him leave in the first place needs shooting. Terrific player. Also thought Willian and Ramieres were good too. I don't know what it it about Mourinho but he doesnt grate on me like Fergie did. The bloke is a flipping genius.
gumboots Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Mourinho proving once again that he is the best manager on the planet. Tactical genius and a charismatic character to boot. You had me until you said charismatic. Can't stand the guy. Guaranteed turn off the tv personality
