I'm with John. Carroll did swing for Flores. His face was contorted in anger. Flores deserves a 8 game ban for play acting.

And there is the rub. The FA should leave Carrolls ban to stand (harsh though it is) but charge Flores with bringing the game into disrepute. When found guilty a punishment of at least equal to Carrolls would be the only fair verdict.

Not only that but the PFA's silence in all this is deafening. They should be all over Flores and similar like a rash for continually trying to get opponents sent off.

Looks like the red card will stand

Good news

Sopunds like you are condoning cheating here. How do you feel about Flores's part in all this tom... or have you already commented on that?

Flores is a cheating scumbag, his carry on about Carroll and West Ham online has been disgraceful.

Completely shameless and unapologetic about being a cheat. Cheating c**t.

Not seen one, but sure there's one kicking about. It's not the first tme he's over-reacted to minimal contact.

Found it. I think people are being harsh on Flores. Have you ever been hit on the hair bobble? It bloody canes.

Flores should be banned yes Theno but what I am talking about is the way the Carroll appeal is handled.

The initial appeal was rejected and that should have been the end of it, had they rescinded it at the arbitration then what is to stop every club doing it every time they disagree with a decision?

Sometimes you have to accept what you think is a bad decision and just get on with it.

Something has to be done about cheats though, pre season just say anyone caught diving will get a 3 game ban and stick to it

I was talking to Mike Dean the other day (as you do) and he wouldn't even agree that a shirt pull in the 18 yard box should always result in a penalty.

MD: "You'd be giving 17 penalties a game"

Me: "Maybe at first, but then they would stop doing it..."

MD: "No, I don't think they would"

So in other words they will just carry on using their discretion in how they handle cheats, the FA will keep backing up the referees (even if they are wrong - or miss something obvious), and footballers will keep chancing their arm (cheating to gain an advantage).

Following that logic through Dean is suggesting that the only way to get a penalty is to feel a shirt pull and go to ground.

Continuing that logic therefore suggests that by condoning shirt pulling and rewarding the divers that the referees rather than the players or the managers are the root cause of the cheating and diving that we see.

Applying some 'skew' to that logic.... I'd assume MotD / Sky / assorted press and media etc are more than happy for the 'padding out' that debating decisions to the nth degree allows and might even provide some background 'encouragement' to policy implementation at the Referees Society.

Am I becoming paranoid or is my age and experience simply fuelling my cynicism?

Does Mike Dean live locally? It's just that I saw him playing Turton Golf Club a few months ago when I was there.

Absolute devastation this arsenal will point to the first goal being way offside but they've been terrible and Liverpool brutal

Sturridge and Toure missed sitters as well

4-0

If I was Roy I would be looking at that Liverpool team and thinking to model the England team on them. Play all of Sturridge, Stirling, Gerrard and Henderson. Bring in Rooney for Suarez, And see whom out of Wiltshire, oxlaide chamberlain or Barkley can play the Coutinho role best.

---------------------Hart

Walker---Cahill------Jagielka---Baines

-------------------Gerrard

------------------Henderson

---Sturridge----Barkley--Stirling

-------------------Rooney

It would be fun to watch if nothing else! Its a crazy attacking formation but works very well if you press the ball hard.
