onlyonejackwalker Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Saw an interview with him on the BBC news saying he had the backing of 90% of the fans, not only that he more or less claimed that the other 5 or 10% were racist. Obviously, the fans weren't interviewed to give their response. Disgusting, and very poor by the BBC too. A bit like our 1%!

thenodrog Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Ferguson had just made Aberdeen the best team in Scotland and won a European trophy with them. Moyes has won nothing in his whole career.Everton would have been the best team in Scotland if they'd been in that godforsaken league.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Ok but would have they beaten Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the way to winning the Cup Winners Cup?

Backroom DE. Posted March 1, 2014 Backroom Posted March 1, 2014 The "headbutt" is pretty pathetic, but no doubt Sky, the BBC, etc will go on like civilisation itself has come to an end. Pardew will get punished, but will Newcastle use this incident as an excuse to get out of Pardew's contract?
Stuart Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 The "headbutt" is pretty pathetic, but no doubt Sky, the BBC, etc will go on like civilisation itself has come to an end. Pardew will get punished, but will Newcastle use this incident as an excuse to get out of Pardew's contract? D'ya know. I was thinking EXACTLY the same when Stelling was going on and on about it. "THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN FOOTBALL BEFORE", he shrieked. Wonder if Ashley is connected with Sky? I guess he's going to give them more advertising revenue than Pardew.Pretty difficult to see the incident from the clip above.
Husky Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Looked more like a kiss than a headbutt. Perhaps the Hull player should receive a ban for homophobia
Audax Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26402044 Some were saying he'd go in the summer. It's no excuse but the Hull player does look like he is definitely inflaming the situation. A player should not go after the manager generally speaking, I've seen a picture where it looks like a player in the Spanish league was heavily clutching Mourinho. Photos are out there showing the action, looks like the PL has already blacked out the first video above.
Stuart Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Sounds like Newcastle are not going attempt to sack him. I guess they are happy just to claw back his 6 years worth of wages as long as he's winning matches. Seems fair enough. He's getting himself quite a reputation as a hot head.
thenodrog Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I think left to it's own conclusions the Hull lad would have absolutely battered him.
Paul Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Good times in Birmingham: Villa post a £51.8m LOSS post tax! http://7500toholte.sbnation.com/2014/2/28/5457656/aston-villa-financial-statement-2012-13-2013-14-randy-lerner-paul-lambert-wage-bill Great quote from the Villa blog; That amount includes what the club refers to as "the accelerated amortisation of certain players' registrations and their employment costs." In normal speak: we paid off a bunch of dead-weight contracts While Birmingham City's owner faces 14 years in jail!! You have to laugh at professional football, otherwise you'd cry. They really are a bunch of idiots running the sport in this country.
Roverthechimp Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I think there is an oxymoron in the making with "professional football" when applied to the administrative/economic parts...
Audax Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Other side of the coin is Italian football, they have had many gambling/match fixing scandals yet, there they keep up though Serie A has been in the doldrums now for years.
Blue blood Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26410785 Interesting OGS saying that Tan's pep talk will inspire the team to safety. (Slightly exaggerated headline I know but it's not great to see this happening.) The club seem to be going out of control. Also evidenced by this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26433231 At least he put some money in for transfers amongst the madness!
Stuart Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Amazing how much grief Tan gets in contrast to Venkys. He got them promoted, we got relegated. Is it because they are a city club or does Tan just not have friends in Sky places?
roverandout Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 anyone still think Sherwood would have been a good appointment? seems to be cracking under the pressure after that interview, cant see him being in charge next season!!!
Audax Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I originally only saw still photos of the Pardew headbutt, in real time, yes, it is indeed bad and a 7 game ban.
Backroom DE. Posted March 11, 2014 Backroom Posted March 11, 2014 7 games is lenient considering the context of the situation. Newcastle have the bigger problem though, as Pardew's actions have undermined any authority he may have once had with his squad.

How do you get your players to behave if you act like a kid yourself?
thenodrog Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 One month ago.... Robin van Persie's agent... tell me Robin do you still want to play at Man Utd? RvP ... What with that shhquad and that loshher of a manager......Not a chance. Find me shhomewhere elshhhe this shhhummer. yesterday RvP's agent ..... Robin they are desperate and have offered Rooney 300kpw for 5 years! I think we could do at least a similar deal. RvP..... Go ahead... my heart hash alwaysh been in Mancheshter and imo David Moyesh is the new shhhpecial one.
JWUpper Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26587077 Anelka 'terminates' his West Brom contract to preserve his integrity...pretty disgusting really!
thenodrog Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Good for WBA. A spent force on big money, no wonder they were playing hardball with him. Pity we can't photoshop a few photos showing Best, Murphy and Etohu doing the same.
Audax Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 You can't fire me because I quit! Or something along those lines.
Audax Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 A fair number of Iranians play in the Bundesliga, so this Iranian, Degajah, who previously played for Wolfsburg and now with Fulham came in as a sub and scores after being in for 7 minutes, Fulham gets their first win under Magrath over Newcastle. Norwich lose, I believe it is Norwich who basically play the top 4 clubs or so for their last 4 matches. So the table tightens up quite a bit.
