Moyes started the rot it seems,

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said he was surprised that Moyes had labelled his side as favourites for the game at Old Trafford before kick-off.

Rodgers said: "I would never say that at Liverpool, even if we were bottom of the league. Anfield is Anfield."

Moyes responded: "I just thought Liverpool were above us in the league and playing well and that any average person would have said the same."

Aspiring to be average, that does not even put him on Shebby's radar

I think he's lost the plot and the pressure of it all has broken him. If they finish outside of the promised land (venkys) or perhaps even the euro cup places I think we'll see a volcano erupt in manchester. Surely Fergie will soon realise that the last real choice of consequence he had to make at united he got so wrong it looks like it will destroy everything he built. But despite his pedigree i'll have little sympathy as it's just yet more Karma for all the bullshit comments about Rovers over the years!! Especially the we bought the league one, even though our team cost less than his. Enjoy retirement RRN, i hope it's everything you have earnt.

i think the best comment I've heard regarding Moyes so far was Meulensteens where he said he was the captain of a rowing boat at Everton (meaning he had to muck in and coach etc) but with United he'd been made captain of a cruise liner (meaning he now had others to do those roles and should over-see) and brought the rowing boat attitude with him. I guess he had a point after all, bit like being gifted a ferrari and then putting t in the garage, getting your tools out as you've decided you can improve it.

Anyway who cares, in the wise words of Ronald McDonald "I'm Loving it"

Moyes has absolutely ripped the guts out of United. It's like they were trying to get him sacked  three penalties, and it should have been four!

3 pens and it should have been 3! Sturridge dived for the third and I'm sure thats why he didn't get the 4th which was nailed on.

Manchester United, made and destroyed in Scotland!

Fergie must be fuming but mostly at himself, how on earth he thought Moyes could carry on his legacy I'll never know.

Who could? And especially with the poor squad that he left.

I think what seperates Moyes from the rest is that he has managed to spunk 64 million on 2 players that havn't improved the team... Genius.

A nice 5 year deal for Rooney, losing 2 experienced defenders for free in the summer and RVP either leaving or being given the same as Wayne whilst every club/agent in Europe is adding an extra 0 to the end of their demands when MU want to sign someone...

Give Moyes a part in the VW ads ("if only everything in life was as reliable") and maybe even the heineken ads from the 80's/90's. Hell bring back the Hamlet cigar ads - he would fit right in!

Obviously this was always going to happen hence SAF walking in the first place but i was shocked at just how unfit Man utd looked today, no passion no 50-50's won, they looked as if they had no idea. Set up as a 4-2-3-1 and kept that unbalance throughout the game - subs made in the 75th minute! It's obvious the players are taking the @#/? and the rot has set in... not many managers could come in and turn that attitude around.

And to think dave whelen got laughed out of town when he suggested Martinez for Utd before Moyes got it.... how many people look a bit silly now? Man utd need a big sam figure to put a rocket up them, get them fit and organise them until Klopp comes available.

RoversFan99, Lambert has done a good job keeping Villa out of the bottom 3 whlist cutting the wage bill and having to sign players on lesser wages. Vlaar was a excellent signing just like Bentake was aswell. Bauca looked good right back yesterday.

deffo not going down

And neither should they be even close to going down with so many poor teams in the league

Staying up for villa isn't an achievement (although these days that is the benchmark for any club)

It was last year and then they pulled away with 2-3 weeks left. They are big enough to where they should never have to worry about it but all of the bottom 10 need to be concerned it looks like, now and in the foreseeable future.

Villa were a side on a downward spiral under McLeish before Lambert got there, they had an aging squad with a very large wage bill and they had only stayed up by two points the previous season. But Lambert has put together good side by using young players from the clubs youth system and by making very good economical purchases. After staying up in what was a transition season last year they have progressed this season to mid table and I expect to see them bring in a couple more players in the summer and push for top 8 next season.

Also for all the people on here that moan when we sign a player from league 1 just look at the lad Westwood at Villa signed from Crewe (he had only played 5 League 1 games with most of his games coming in league 2) for £2 million and in the last two season he has played a key role in their midfield. I think that its a shame that he hasn't got a chance in the England squad to try and stake a claim for the World Cup squad (nearly everyone else has), he is comfortable on the ball, he nearly always retains possession and is a very underrated player who seems to go under the radar as he does the simple things very well a bit like Corry Evans does for us.

Pleased to see that Arsenal won today, I'd love to see Wenger win the league and cup double to silence the idiot critics of his who regularly hound him in the media, whilst he remains a man of great class and dignity as ever (unlike The Translator, Pellegrini and Rodgers).

Come off it. Wenger is as bad as any other manager when things aren't going his way.

He wears the worst coat in football, too. It's like the b*stard offspring off a dalek and a walnut whip.

It's always nice to have a good laugh at Man U on a Monday morning. They were awful again yesterday. As has already been said he took a team that won the title at a canter last season, added 2 players to it, and is dropping like a stone. My money is on van Persie leaving at the end of the season. Rooney's contract means that he's the main man now, not the Dutchman.

To chime in on Spurs, I too think Sherwood is gone in the summer. He is too passionate. He needs to save that for the dressing room. What was he thinking when he wazzed the ball at Sagna late on yesterday? Very unprofessional. I'd pot Levy too. He wasted the Bale on on underperforming midfielders. Tehy needed a good central defender, a full back, and another sti

Villa thoroughly deserved to beat Chelsea. Ramires's tackle could very easily have broken a leg.

The bottom is unpredictable but I am going with Cardiff, Fulham, and probably Norwich getting relegated.

Bit harsh, that!

I don't mind Wenger but he's had a lot of hard times, there have been times in the last few years where you would think he might have gotten the sack. Managers like Wenger, Jose, British managers like Bruce, Hughes and Pulis, they all add to the game. Martinez too.

As expected all is not rosy for Moyes; http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1754791/manchester-united-boardroom-considering-replacing-david-moyes-manager?cc=5901

Commercial interests are seen as a factor. Companies don't want to be associated with a losing team. I'd wager especially after they have forked out millions whilst being told that the Man U "brand" is ironclad.

If he loses on Wednesday I think that might be curtains for Moyes.

The only reason he's still there is Fergie and Charlton, who have some deluded notion of loyalty paying dividends even though in this instance it's blatently obvious staying loyal to Moyes is only doing lasting damage to United as a club.

Ferguson in particular spouts the "United aren't a sacking club" mantra, which is a load of @#/?. They're a club that didn't sack Sir Alex Ferguson, but that's all. It wasn't exactly difficult to choose to stick with him after the first few years! Before he came along they were binning managers as regularly as anybody else. He keeps repeating this crap because he doesn't want to admit he's made a massive balls up in anointing Moyes as his successor, imo, and thinks if he says it enough times it will be considered a fact.

If United go crashing out of the Champs League on Wednesday and then get humbled by City then I don't see how Moyes position can be considered in any way tenable.

Guest Norbert

Tomorrow's comedy night promises much, but I do hope it doesn't deliver Moyes' P45. This is too much fun, and I would love to see him in the transfer market getting turned down by player after player in favour of clubs in the Champions League.

Wasn't it Wenger who wanted to remove the throw-ins some years back just because ARSEnal had no response to the long throws by Rory Delap?

Btw, there was an article in Swedish media the other day that tried to put some blame on the chaos on Alex Ferguson. The article claimed that he should have addressed the urgent long-time issues with the manure squad instead of just focusing on a last title for himself. Any opinions like that in British media?

As an aside, just remembered- yesterday morning on TalkSport, Alan Brazil was giving it the whole 'poor Davie Moyes' in an SEM Sports News kind of way, he even got Stuart Pearce on the act. Neither are barometers for intelligent lads, but still, cringeworthy to hear!
