Backroom Tom Posted March 22, 2014 Backroom Posted March 22, 2014 How can Ox be banned though as within the stupid rules the ref saw it and acted on it didn't he?

AllRoverAsia Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 A similar incident got a retrospective banning - I saw it mentioned earlier on the Web but can't remember where, maybe BBc. Mind you it was not in the PL where perhaps different rules apply. Found it ''Preston North End had the wrong man sent off in their League One game against Port Vale in November. The striker Joe Garner was suspended retrospectively for three games after the midfielder Neil Kilkenny had mistakenly been dismissed.''
Amo Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Alan Shearer, Leonardo, and Russell Brand all on one sofa. Was this a thing that actually happened?

It appears Joe Garner and Neil Kilkenny are both white, just saying. Kilkenny has been selected to play before for Australia, sidenote. Strange that the referee has made this same mistake twice.
somersetrover Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Very impressed with Stoke today. Brought back memories of the great times that we had under Sparky.
thenodrog Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Very impressed with Stoke today. Brought back memories of the great times that we had under Sparky. I think I've said before that I expect Hughes to do well at Stoke. Club like ours with solid pro's and no Billy Big Time Carlos Kickaballs to undermine his authority. It's taken him 6 months as it did here but he's certainly got them firing on all cylinders. Incidentally how many on here said Steven N'Zonzi was crap? Debate raged for months yet they've quietened down somewhat now that he's playing every week in the Prem.
somersetrover Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Heard people on TV and Radio raving about Rooney's goal. Am I the only who thought that it was absolutely horrendous goalkeeping, that you wouldn't expect to see in kids football?
thenodrog Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Heard people on TV and Radio raving about Rooney's goal. Am I the only who thought that it was absolutely horrendous goalkeeping, that you wouldn't expect to see in kids football? No I did too. The keeper ran away from it and then fell over an invisible trip wire. The Prem this weekend has been absolutely awash with godawful comic cut defending.
Jimmy612 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Reporter: Would you assess Liverpool as a potential title winner this season? Solskjaer: Couldn't care less. Watch: http://t.co/rvaOGEwW4X Brilliant I'm sick of the tv companies obsessions with the big teams its an insult to opposing managers at times, it was the same when we played city they only asked bowyer about city and not his own team! Yeh apart from Bowyer played straight into their hands by lavishing City with praise for a good 45 seconds. It did my head in. Solksjaer did exactly right with his response. Why should he care what Liverpool are doing. Stupid bloody question
roverandout Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 his team has just been thrashed, they are in deep relegation trouble and hes probably suffering from stress, what a stupid question to ask him
Eddie Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Heard people on TV and Radio raving about Rooney's goal. Am I the only who thought that it was absolutely horrendous goalkeeping, that you wouldn't expect to see in kids football? The keeping isn't great, but you still have to have the awareness to go for it and then pull it off. Also, with the way that balls move now, you can see the ball move in different directions when in flight, which means that it wouldn't have been that easy for him to track whilst trying to run backwards in a panic.
Audax Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Goalkeepers get caught off guard easily in those situations as most of us have probably seen on film at least where a goalkeeper kicks the ball long, the full length and scores ... on the opposite goalkeeper.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 45 seconds.....slightly worse than our defence!
Proudtobeblue&white Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Impressed by Michael Oliver's refereeing tonight, 29, gives yellows when they are due, keeps up with play, first Manc derby.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 25, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted March 25, 2014 True, though Fellaini should be off...
Backroom Tom Posted March 25, 2014 Backroom Posted March 25, 2014 Remember all the talk of Jose making a mistake letting mata go? He seems lazy and uninterested when he isn't winning
Proudtobeblue&white Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Can't remember in the PL age seeing a MU team passing so badly. Moyesey really is a boon in opening up the division!
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 25, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted March 25, 2014 I don't think they played THAT badly tonight to be fair, just City are a far better team.
Backroom DE. Posted March 25, 2014 Backroom Posted March 25, 2014 I don't think they played THAT badly tonight to be fair, just City are a far better team. They were awful. The only reason they didn't look so bad was because City played the entire match like a training exercise!
Roverthechimp Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 The first question that i always ask myself when i see utd these days is how the hell can you spend 64million on 2 players and not improve the team?? That is sheer genius... Can't see how they can continue with Moyes - would you trust him with a complete rebuild of the squad at a cost of about 250 million and giving new contracts to everyone in the squad who hasn't already said "@#/? this i'm going home"?
roverandout Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 no but I wouldn't trust bowyer to do the same at rovers either
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 For me there's a parallel between Bowyer and Moyes, neither will take their respective club forward. I suppose I'm allowed to say that about Moyse.
Amo Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 For me there's a parallel between Bowyer and Moyes, neither will take their respective club forward. I suppose I'm allowed to say that about Moyse. Yeaaah... no. Moyes has taken the (comfortable) league champions and spent £64m to make them Europa League contenders (if that!). Not really equatable to Bowyer, who saved the club from League One and has marginally improved on last year. You can argue both are underachieving but it's a glib comment to make out of context.
