Ended 2-2 at the Etihad....

What a job Pulis has done at Palace, they looked dead and buried when he took over!

He's done a magnificent job.

The sad thing is, in two or three years time (When Palace have had 2-3 years of mid-table football) the fans will be calling for his head, because he doesn't play good football!

Plus Liverpool seem to think it's their destiny to win it this year, what with it being the anniversary of Heysel and all that.

Do it for the 39, Stevie G!

They've conveniently glossed over that. It was the fault of the authorities don't you know?

Absolutely no mileage in using Heyschel to emulate Man Utd's financially successful utilisation of the Munich air crash when the poor blighters who lost their lives at Hillsborough are so much more marketable.

And then they'll replace him with somebody much less competent (but his teams play tippy tappy football, so it's alright).

And then they'll tumble down the divisions.

Sounds strangely familiar, that one.

What a truly awful post.

It is indeed. Unfortunately and sadly the more I see the more it rings true. How many minutes silence and media hours do we experience every year for the victims of Heyschel? How many too for the poor blighters burned to death at Bradford? It appears they simply don't matter as much as the victims of Hillsborough.

Maybe on the closest kick-off date to 29 May 2015 every game could kick off 39 minutes late, for the 30th anniversary. Or Liverpool could do it unilaterally.

Then again, Elvis might land a UFO on the back of the Loch Ness monster. I hear they're offering better odds on that.

You two talk about the truth like you invented it.

Heysel was horrific but a game of 'my disaster's bigger than your disaster' is uncalled for. There were consequences following Hesyel for those people involved, for Liverpool FC, and for English football, not least Everton FC. Merseyside certainly suffered the consequences of their involvement in Heysel. Until recently, no-one was held culpable for Hillsborough.

For our younger readers, and maybe some of our older ones by the sound of it: http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2013/05/what-about-justice-for-heysel/

Sorry Theno but thats truly disgraceful. Suggesting clubs have actively used disasters to market themselves is truly wrong.

What would you want them to do? Ignore the past? Some Liverpool fans where undoubtably guilty of misconduct at Heysel, and individuals where proven have been punished. The full truth of Hillsborough was actively hidden from the gazes of the general public for over 20 years by people who where put in positions of trust and authority. Why even at this stage are the families of the deceased still asking for Thatchers private documents to be available for review; her family actively made her papers on The Falklands and the Iranian embassy available to the press (marketability?)?

The deceased from Bradford are marked every year, as are the deceased at Ibrox, its just that there is a weeping sore left by Hillsborough that should be felt by every fan of every club in that era, of outrageous behaviour by the authorities of the day, and the media interest in a "big club" that brings it to the fore. Blame the media for its concentration on Liverpool, rather than the club.

That said, I have a friend who is a die-hard city fan who has been home and away for many, many years, and know plenty of Liverpool fans who have been to Anfield less times than myself, so although I dont care too much, Id prefer City to win albeit I think Chelsea will.

Munich turned Man Utd from a big city club much like any other big city club into an institution. I might be being unfair as you say but alternatively you may be being incredibly naive. To put it more euphamistically I see Liverpool FC 'benefitting' from the Hillsborough disaster for time immemorial....... all in the best possible taste of course.

I thought it was a definite penalty. The Chelsea player took his standing leg and crucially, didn't get any of the ball.

Nearly a great assist from Mike Dean. ^_^

Wonder how much Fergie time Dean is going to play.

...over. Poor Chelsea. Mourinho's first ever home defeat at Chelsea.

Definitely a pen. The trailing leg took altidore's standing leg.

I thought exactly the same Ricky. Redknapp has just shown it 50 times on superslo-mo and Altidore does put his foot down on top the defender's foot. The motion of the defender then drags the forwards foot and brings him to the ground.

It depends if that is within the definition of a foul.

With apologies to Claire, I'm starting to doubt it was a foul.

Tell Trevor Hicks that Sarah and Victoria are marketable, moron.

I for one hope that Liverpool win the league if only to infuriate the likes of M-K etc.
