I thought exactly the same Ricky. Redknapp has just shown it 50 times on superslo-mo and Altidore does put his foot down on top the defender's foot. The motion of the defender then drags the forwards foot and brings him to the ground.

It depends if that is within the definition of a foul.

With apologies to Claire, I'm starting to doubt it was a foul.

I thought that Altidore stood on him and then went down.

I was just looking on his Wiki page as I was thinking he's still a right donkey, just to see how many goals he's actually scored. I remember him being 'the best American player ever' at one stage. Anyway someone has changed his wiki page with this "On 19-04-14 he made his only lasting impression on the Premier League by diving to win a penalty for Sunderland at Stamford Bridge thereby earning himself a FA medal of honour and a first Liverpool Premier League title." :tu:

And what about Mourinho's bizarre post match interview. In the words of the song there may be trouble ahead.................

I don't know what's he's upset about. I mean, Sunderland drew with Man. City a few days ago.

Tell Trevor Hicks that Sarah and Victoria are marketable, moron.

Your post suggests you are too near the coal face and need to take a step back Nick.

Is irony a punishable offence?

It was clearly a penalty, Altidore stretched his leg out in order to shield the ball, or perhaps turn back, and it just so happened that whatever the defender is called was on his backside and sliding into the same area that Altidore's leg was

USA's group in the World Cup has Germany, Portugal and Ghana. That must be among the hardest groups. They will be hardpressed, not sure Altidore, Dempsey, Donovan can handle that. But they do have a manager that if anyone can do it, perhaps Klinsmann, Klinsi can.

Ref doesn't get 50 replays to base his decision on though. He gets one and makes an instant decision. It certainly looked like a foul first time at real speed. Much, much more baffling was his failure to send off the Chelsea chap for that flailing elbow.

Definitely bottled that one.

Can the FA suspend Ramires retrospectively?

Now that would be a great way for them to stick 2 fingers up to Mourinho.

There is a three man panel that look at incidents not seen by the officials. If he is found guilty (and he will be) he will get a three game ban which is what he would have got if it had been seen on the day. As it is his second sending off of he season he will get another game. This is only for domestic games. Mourinho's assisant will get hammered in a similar way to Pardew. His threatening behaviour to a match official should not be tolerated and doesn't do the game any favours. Mourinho's comments will have the FA in a pickle as to what to do. My guess will be that they write to him and ask him for an explanation of his comments.

I hope they have the balls to charge him as his disguised comments were childish and silly and in a veiled way are questioning the integrity of the referee and Mike Riley.

None of the 3 are out of it yet. Liverpools nerves are beginning to fray since they stormed to the top of the table and all that 'all they have to do is win every match' nonsense. Rem how nerves played a huge part in the Rovers final fixtures in 1901/02 and again in 1994/5? How funny would it be if Norwich beat Liverpool? Looking at the Palace and Sunderland results this week it's certainly not an impossibility. How 'football' would it be if Van Wolfswinckle banged in a hat trick?

Can you really remember that far back?

I don't like a lot of things about Liverpool fans in general but they way they celebrated with us and Kenny was class even if it was just because we weren't united
