No, but to have two players sent off in different matches in a case of mistaken identity within a couple of months of each other? It's embarrassing.

Someone said the championship is how football used to be. How far back are we going? Must be the 70's. I'm nearly 40 and began to really get interestrd in 83. I think there has been 8 different winners in that time. Liverpool, Everton, Arseanal, Leeds, Man U, Rovers, Chelski and Man City.

60's. 10 different clubs won the League Champions title between 59/60 and 71/72. FA Cup has similar stats too.

What grounds for appeal? If that card is rescinded then there will be something very wrong.

They won't appeal. Gerrard admitted in his after match interview that he deserved it. I assume that line was just included to cover all potential scenarios, regardless of how unlikely they are.

Unfortunately that was the only useful thing Stoke did attacking-wise the entire match.
