Backroom DE. Posted April 27, 2013 Backroom Posted April 27, 2013 Part of me wishes I saw that, even if it meant having to watch SEM Soccer Saturday. Was big nose saying 10 games is outragous etc.? As for Hart, he's good but he's no Friedel, Schmichel or Van Der Saar. Over rated because he's fairly young and English. Thompson was actually saying the ban was justified, but still going crazy about the FA, independent panel, etc. He said Suarez "isn't a role model" ... just various bizarre things. He was all over the shop, and Stelling was just fuelling it by playing devil's advocate to wind him up. He pretty much got Thompson as angry as he could and then ended the debate with "and the lesson is, don't skip breakfast", leaving Thompson fuming and moving onto a totally new topic. Brilliant trolling skills. Re: Joe Hart... defo overrated because he's English, but that's always been the case. Look at Henderson, Downing, Agbonlahor etc... Hart's an above average keeper but he hasn't exactly got much competition for his England spot.

Backroom Mike E Posted April 27, 2013 Backroom Posted April 27, 2013 joe hart is still a top keeper, cant think of many better. Cech, Reina, Friedel (still), DeGea, Foster (imo), Casillas, Neuer, Lloris, Krul (imo), Buffon, Valdes, Handanovic
Salgado Is A Hero Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 There's quite a few better. He's a bombscare.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 27, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted April 27, 2013 Holy sh1t, Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool, and they've just had Debuchy sent off.....
perthblue02 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Just watching Liverpool, bloody hell think they should just cash in on Suarez if they play like that without him
Backroom DE. Posted April 27, 2013 Backroom Posted April 27, 2013 Newcastle were abysmal to be fair, some of their performances this season deserve relegation, though I think Wigan will be the one to go.
Amo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Newcastle were abysmal to be fair, some of their performances this season deserve relegation, though I think Wigan will be the one to go. Quite amusing to see some Newcastle fans a couple of months back saying they have the makings for a Top Four side. True story.
davulsukur Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Quite amusing to see some Newcastle fans a couple of months back saying they have the makings for a Top Four side. True story. Seems to be a common thing among Newcastle fans. I know a fair few and at the start of this season, they were saying they expected a top 4 finish.
Backroom Tom Posted April 27, 2013 Backroom Posted April 27, 2013 Poor Bobby Madley, he makes his premier league debut as a ref and has to produce 3 red cards
Backroom DE. Posted April 27, 2013 Backroom Posted April 27, 2013 All 3 justified, though. Fox's tackle was ridiculous, I know footballers are generally a bit thick but I don't see why any player in the modern game would go in two-footed, studs up, knowing it's an instant red card.
Audax Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Wigan and Aston Villa play the last weekend. Could be pivotal. Newcastle (37 points) last 3, West Ham away, QPR away, Home to Arsenal. I wouldn't give the ghost up on Wigan yet though I heard they fouled up the match today with an own-goal late and took only a draw. I say they can escape though Aston Villa hosts Sunderland Monday, Villa wins, they have got a bit of room to breathe. Pardew did well for 1 or 2 years but now looks like another manager who has lost his magic, it's difficult, few can keep going all the time successful, even Jose has had problems and it was in the news, someone called SAF a magician and that's probably what it is about.
Audax Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Just watching Liverpool, bloody hell think they should just cash in on Suarez if they play like that without him Really, they sent out a message, Sturridge got two goals. You can't have a player bigger than the team and though I don't think it is that way exactly, maybe a little.
Baz Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Seems to be a common thing among Newcastle fans. I know a fair few and at the start of this season, they were saying they expected a top 4 finish. Both Newcastle and Sunderland suffer continually from the North-east goldfish bowl effect, they both seem to think because they have big crowds (not relative to catchment area btw), that they somehow are much better than they factually are. Newcastle have some real quality attacking players, but are still dodgy at the back whilst Bramble is still a regular for the Mackems. They need to stop believing the hype of the local media up there, so biased its untrue, and realise they are both a mile off challenging for anything other than a cup.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 My Newcastle mate told me their delusion has calmed down a bit since being relegated but last year's season must've kick-started it again. When people rip him for them not winning a trophy in ages he replies that they won the Championship and the Inter-Toto cup. And he's one of the sensible ones. I once saw a comment from a Sunderland fan saying they had under-achieved for the last 75 years. How the f**k can you under-achieve for that long?
Backroom Mike E Posted April 28, 2013 Backroom Posted April 28, 2013 Coutinho is the first player to have me gasping in almost a sexual manner watching a ball travel from A to B since Tugay. Just WOW. That lad has been a revelation for Liverpool. Who's Xabi Alonso?
thenodrog Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Seems to be a common thing among Newcastle fans. I know a fair few and at the start of this season, they were saying they expected a top 4 finish. Thats cos they overperformed madly last season. Those two strikers were scoring goals out of the blue back then. Bound to catch up with them sometime. Best bit about it is that Fat Ashley is going to have to blow a King's ransom getting shot of Pardew who has an insane 7 years left on his contract! Even the Glasers haven't offered such a stupid deal to Fergy for goodness sakes! Lets be honest Pardew is hardly a Mourhino, RFW, Allardyce or Wenger is he? Never has been and never will be either. Really, they sent out a message, Sturridge got two goals. You can't have a player bigger than the team and though I don't think it is that way exactly, maybe a little. Mark my words without Suarez being No 1 Sturridge would soon fall back into his lazy arse ways. Suarez just loves to play football and this 10 match ban will be eating him up. I've a feeling that Sturridge wouldn't be all that bothered by it ....and Dunny would light a cigar. Coutinho is the first player to have me gasping in almost a sexual manner watching a ball travel from A to B since Tugay. Just WOW. That lad has been a revelation for Liverpool. Who's Xabi Alonso? I know what you mean but I'd liken him more to Eyal Berkovitz than Tugay. He does the damage 'up top'. btw Dunno if it's possible but It'd be superb if someone could get Berkovitz to line up with Tugay for that legends match.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 All 3 justified, though. Fox's tackle was ridiculous, I know footballers are generally a bit thick but I don't see why any player in the modern game would go in two-footed, studs up, knowing it's an instant red card. Except when the player play for Palace it would seem !
Stuart Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 If it's possible to look at it dispassionately, there's a nice(ish) piece in the Sunday People about Phil Jones' breakthrough at Rovers. Doesn't mention Kean once. Very odd.
adopted scouser Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 This Reading QPR match is one of the worst I've ever seen, loads of play acting and that 'Tarrat' has missed chances my Grandma would have scored. And she's dead.
cn174 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 After 71 minutes of watching this game I've just realised that Samba isn't playing. Wonder what's happened to him!
koi Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Get ol' 'arry in, chuck loadz of dosh at it and we'll be pushing for Europe at the end of the season... Haha, just seen these tweet from a BBC reporter: "You have to feel very sorry for those with seats facing the pitch at Reading v QPR."
Backroom DE. Posted April 28, 2013 Backroom Posted April 28, 2013 Amazing seeing Redknapp laughing and smiling as soon as the final whistle went. He's got his cash, so who cares?
foreverrovers Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 QPR players/staff look distraught.... Boswinga laughing
John Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Boswinga laughing Was being sarcastic, most of them couldn't give one!
