Just checking the permutations for Wigan and those who are indeed in the mix, looks like anything can happen with 2 weeks to go. http://int.soccerway.com/national/england/premier-league/20122013/regular-season/r17950/?ICID=HP_POP_01

41/42 points it might take to stay up.

11. Stoke City, 40 points, 3 more games, Sunderland away, Tottenham home, Southampton away.

12. Fulham, 40 points but have lost 4 straight, 9 goals against, 2 for in those losses, lost the last match to Reading, remaining: home to Liverpool, away Swansea

13. Aston Villa, 40 points, home to Chelsea, away Wigan

14. Southampton, 39 points, away Sunderland, home to Stoke City

15. Norwich at 38 points, remaining games, home to West Brom, away to Man City. <---- This may be the club Wigan will hope to catch per a Wigan supporter. Never thought it would be Norwich that could be in trouble but yes, they could lose out to West Brom easily and of course, to City.

16. Newcastle at 38 points, at QPR, home to Arsenal.

17. Sunderland at 37 points, host Stoke City, Southampton and away at Tottenham.

18. Wigan at 35 points, 3 games remaining, Tuesday host Swansea, away Arsenal, home Aston Villa

I think this is all accurate, these are the remaining fixtures.

Fun line I saw, "Wigan never give up, the Manchester United of the relegation battles"

2 years ago, I had the pleasure to blog the relegation battle and looked at it really close.

Carragher should have packed it in a while back he's been poor for a few seasons

Dull as they come as well so I can't say I'm looking forward to him as a pundit but Gary Neville has been a pleasant surprise

Why do some footballers get away with whatever they want?

Golden boy steeeeeevie g turns to the ref and blatantly calls him a 'keaning keanhouse' and the ref doesn't bat an eyelid whereas earlier he booked Anichebe for complaining after a goal was chalked off

Gerrard's got away with murder for years, both on and off the pitch. Remember the DJ he assaulted because the bloke wouldn't play the song he wanted? promptly brushed under the carpet. He dives all over the place as well, but funnily enough it's rarely brought up.

Norwich and Newcasle in dreadful form at the moment, if Wigan don't go down, I expect one of the former to!!

Bale today said he never wanted to play for England (via grandma) because he's Welsh. I'd have loved him to say:

'I'd hate to be part of a team who's 'golden generation' consists of a guy who shags grannies and cheats on his pregnant missus, a guy who shagged his best mate's missus, a guy that beats up DJs and a guy who sent pictures of his pants to random sluts while married and shoots interns in training. I'm above playing with dickheads like that.'

But no-one will.

Have you forgotten that Craig Bellamy plays for Wales?

What's Benitez doing at the end of the season ?

He's done an excellent job at Chelsea in incredibly difficult circumstances, he seems to love working in England and the idiots in India could have a moment of inspiration and wave a wad of cash in his face.

Cue tin hat.

I'd have him in a heartbeat, but more chance of you and Gorden being appointed than Rafa.

Can't see him being a great manager in our division. And I'd have to put up with my dad who hates him almost as much as mick McCarthy. So no.

2 crap games today, showing the 'best league in the world' for what it is-overpaid, overhyped average nonsense.

I've sadly more chance of getting the definitive hot seat than Rafa, he's a proper manager and would laugh in the face of whoever is in charge on that day...

Rafa's a great manager in any division, just look at his record, but its a pipe dream and will never happen.

If Jose gets the Chelsea job it will, hopefully, see the demise of Man Ure and their completely obnoxious fans.

He has probably forgotten more than you'd ever know, but about McCarthy he is a very good 1st division manager but can't cut it at the top level.

I'm more referring to the fact that footy players are generally knobheads. But yes, I'd forgotten haha

He'd be a fantastic appointment but would surely have far better offers. They mentioned today that Schalke have made him a priority.
