Joar Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Well it has taken 11 minutes to confirm a visit to Wigan next season. Or not
Stuart Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Arsenal wall not doing it's job. Good fer Wigan! C'mon you pie-eaters!
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted May 14, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted May 14, 2013 They just show up at the end of the season after doing the square root of f**k all at the start of the season. Talk about borrowed time.....
Head Rover Heels Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Gah Personally, I just want to see villa drop into this division. Guess I'll have to wait another year
Stuart Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Indeed, come on Arsenal. Come on Arsenal? Garbage. It's not Wigan's fault we were relegated.
Backroom DE. Posted May 14, 2013 Backroom Posted May 14, 2013 Much like us in 2010/11, Wigan's escape last year was just a stay of execution. And yet, even though Arsenal are sending Wigan down, Wigan have still won more trophies than them in the last 8 seasons.
Stuart Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Nicely taken goal from Ramsey. Eyes only on the cross and did the keeper. Looked a touch offside but hey ho. EDIT: perhaps not. Great goal.
jim mk2 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Feel sorry for Wigan - play some good stuff but like us last season poor defending has been their undoing. Three Lancy clubs down in the past 2 seasons. Cue the usual suspect making another pitch for Lancs Utd.
Clitherover Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Come on Arsenal? Garbage. It's not Wigan's fault we were relegated. Don't remember saying in that post or indeed anywhere on the forum where I said it was Wigan's fault we were relegated. I just don't like Wigan, I'm entitled to my own opinion here aren't I?
philipl Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Last of the small Lancashire town teams removed from the Premier League. None are going to be back any time soon.
jim mk2 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Last of the small Lancashire town teams removed from the Premier League. None are going to be back any time soon. Bolton hopefully next season.

I just don't like Wigan, I'm entitled to my own opinion here aren't I? Why don't you like Wigan? They are just about the only reason to bother with the Premier League this season. Next season, there will be no reason to watch it. Not with any local pride, anyway.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Sadness is we had the chance to be better than them, QF FA Cup, could have faced them at Wembley - they have Whelan, we have F**kwits
Waggy76 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I would think the hierarchy of of the Premier league and the F A are quite pleased .... Rovers , Bolton and Wigan now gone in our case for good ....
Rover_Shaun Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Looks like Wigan are all but down..........at last Not gloating. Just saying they have had many lives. Sad to see them go as I have piemunching friends but they were going to fail eventually.

Philly13 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 If you've got a hard group, you need to take maximum points off the weakest side in the group, Villareal and Ajax in this case. They won 1 of those 4 games. His record at Inter proved he wasn't that good in Europe. This is a good decision imo but time will tell. But to answer your original question, no I don't think any other team would have gotten out of that group. United probably would have won at least 1 game though. I find this Utd chant pretty amusing - "Keep singing 6-1, keep singing 6-1......six games in Europe, you didn't win one" There's other quality managers in world football you know. They beat Villareal both times, but I otherwise agree. Gah Personally, I just want to see villa drop into this division. Guess I'll have to wait another year No way they'll go down next year. They have one of the best managers in England and their young team will be another year older.
jim mk2 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Suggest a future alternative then Brains. Off you go...... Done many times before, but it doesn't penetrate your skull I'm afraid.
DP Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Last of the small Lancashire town teams removed from the Premier League. None are going to be back any time soon. Why not Wigan straight back Phil? They're well run and we know the standard in the Championship is very poor, with a host of debt ridden poorly managed clubs. OK they'll lose Martinez but DW has been around long enough to know who the smart appointments are.
T4E Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Last of the small Lancashire town teams removed from the Premier League. None are going to be back any time soon. Time to lump on Wigan to get promoted next season then. Btw - how did Middlesbrough do in the Champions League?
LeChuck Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Bolton hopefully next season. I expect Bolton to walk the division next season as Cardiff did this year. I think the only relegated club with a chance of bouncing straight back is Reading. There will be too much unrest and upheaval at QPR and Wigan.
