thenodrog Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 imo Pearce is only ever a coach and never a manager. How he's been involved around the England set up for so long is unbelievable. BUT doing well with the U21's is an impossible task when he's denied the best players simply cos they play for one of the big clubs. The sad fact of the matter is imo that he's effectively got sacked for daring to publically criticise the establishment at the FA and the big clubs rather than the results and performances of his teams. Just strengthens my long held opinion that the England set up is a shambles and just a massive gravy train.

thenodrog Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Funny Sky video re Kinnear http://tyneandwear.sky.com/news/video/71188 As with our unfortunate situation NUFC is Ashley's party so he can do what he wants and no one can grumble about it. It's fine and exciting for supporters when these billionaire sugar daddies trap up but the reallity is that those supporters have all deserted common sense values to worship a Golden Calf and falling back down to earth hurts.

Newcastle would be better off without Ashley, all they need is a decent board of directors, they bring in enough money through ST sales, shirts and other commercial activities to be very comfortable in the Premier League without any sugar daddy interference.
Waggy76 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I think the appointment of KInnear is a way of levering Pardew out of the door .... Total madness appointment but pardew was on borrowed time and the length of his contract was more madness ...
Sparky Marky Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 constructive dismissal me thinks...untenable position...8 year contract and then not two minutes later he's out on his arse...

Something that I can never remember happening in my lifetime. Pre Ashley NUFC Directors were permanently at war.
arbitro Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Something that I can never remember happening in my lifetime. Pre Ashley NUFC Directors were permanently at war. I remember John Hall as a decent Chairman/Owner and he was largely responsible for ground redevelopment and a new training ground. His son, Douglas and Freddie Shepherd were a couple of clowns. Wasn't it them two who fell for a NOTW sting and in it they boasted about ripping the fans off with replica shirt prices and described Alan Shearer as Mary Poppins? The club will implode soon and Kinnear and Pardew will blame each other.
Guest Norbert Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 And being very rude about the people of Newcastle. Freddy Shepherd was a card, sacking Sir Bobby, and having the likes of Roeder, an almost sacked Souness and the ever divisive Allardyce as successors (not saying he's rubbish, but just not Newcastle's type of manager). Ashley is even worse with his appointments, getting a past it Keegan, and then sacking him when he clashed with a previous D of F (Dennis Wise), sacking Hughton just after he got them promoted and looking like a normal club, to bring in Desmond Llambias' casino mate Pardoo. And both appointments of Kinnear has left many thinking 'why?'. All they need now is Pin Zahavi or some other agent getting involved in signing players against the wishes of Pardoo, then we can have competition for our crown as Comedy Club of England.

LeChuck Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I'd love someone to point out to Joe Kinnear, being the intelligent man that he is, that he keeps mispronouncing names of players in that interview! Ben Afra as "Ben Aff-ree", Yohan Cabaye as "Yohan Cabab", Papiss Cissé as "see-see", Ameobi as "Amamobi". I agree with people pointing towards possible mental issues. He sounds slightly unhinged. Although I do love this, I think he gives Steve Kean a run for his money in the bullsheet department. "I can open the door to any manager in the world, anyone, that's the difference. I've spent my whole life talking to Alex Ferguson, week in, week out. I can pick the phone up at any time of the day and speak to Arsene Wenger, any manager in the league. In all the divisions."
davulsukur Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 He also said he won 3 manager of the year awards when he only won 1 and signed Tim Krul when he didn't. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22947908
Guest Norbert Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Here's a picture of Kinnear's new dog: He's a handsome fellow isn't he?
Andy Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Article here picking Kinnear's bizarre claims to bits, including his non-existent transfer achievements: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2344117/Joe-Kinnear-prove-takes-Newcastle--MARTIN-SAMUEL.html You know something is wrong when Rovers fans are calling your club a joke. To be honest, in a perverse way, it's nice to see something like this happening to a club that isn't Rovers. Shame it's Newcastle though, don't mind them. Would have been good to have happened at a club whose manager or fans were sticking up for old Liplicker a couple of years ago.
Guest Norbert Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 You mean Everton for example? Would love it to be Spurs, but that won't happen.
blue_n_white99 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of former England assistant manager Franco Baldini as technical director.http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8783203/Franco-Baldini-joins-Tottenham-staff-as-technical-director So what is Sherwood doing now?
The Rover of Finland Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Would do better than Murphy on our midfield.
blue_n_white99 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I think you'll find Steve Kean discovered Joe Kinnear. LOL Don't start that stevekeanlies again Bob, don't think my sides could cope
LeChuck Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/exclusive-kinnear-i-m-head-and-shoulders-above-the-rest-1-5814868 Joe Kinnear is at it again. "I’ve been a manager for 35 years. I’ve been Manager of the Year. I’ve won every award there is in football as a player. I think all those qualities put me head and shoulders above every other director of football.” Could be quite a fun season up in the north east with Kinnear and Di Canio in the media every 5 minutes.
benhben Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Chris Samba has gone back to Anzhi in a £12m deal. This guy seriously just follows the money rather than making moves for the good of his career. Once was a cult hero, now i seriously dislike him.

Once was a cult hero, now i seriously dislike him. I don't understand why Anzhi have paid basically the same price they received to take a player who didn't exactly cover himself with glory during his return to the Premiership. I would have thought QPR would have been desperate to get him off their wage bill and I expected him to leave for a much reduced fee. Anyone know if Rovers had included a sell-on clause on future transfers involving Samba when he was sold? In hindsight this would have been a very smart move.
Backroom Silas Posted July 2, 2013 Backroom Posted July 2, 2013 I don't understand why Anzhi have paid basically the same price they received . This being the same Anzhi who's chairman was sniggering in the press about how much QPR had paid for him only about 6 months ago. And then they pay the same price back. Just goes to show how much crap people talk in the football world and how much they contradict themselves. Shame, I have never really booed a player at Ewood but i had my lungs in training ready to give it to modest old Christopher. Oh well, i am sure there are plenty Russians out there that will take over my abuse hurling, but for totally different reasons. Although I don't approve with their reasons, it really couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Bon voyage big Chris!

Once was a cult hero, now i seriously dislike him. Funny to see a player who was upset at having bananas thrown at him going back to the country where it happened. A country that is becoming increasingly racist, homophobic and xenophobic. Maybe he feels he has some unfinished business because it obviously has nowt to do with a large signing on fee, his agents getting some cash and his wages..........................................
