I want a team of players giving 100%, but also ones with quality. Nzonzi tried under Big Sam. Obviously Kean and Venkys were the biggest problems but it doesn't excuse the fact that Nzonzi wasn't trying. I remember paying alot of money to go to Swansea and his performance was disgusting.

Yakubu, Robinson and Hoilett all contributed during that season, I wanted Kean out as much as the next man and went to protests but I still want the players to try. Not too much to ask.

Robinson couldn't be arsed to dive on the floor half the time and Hoilett had about three good games, away at Everton and Wolves and maybe one or two others. Yakubu was obviously great for us.

People go on about the Swansea performance then act like he was like that in every game. Far from it, and all our worst performances that season was when he wasn't playing, and we couldn't even maintain the slightest bit of possession.

Never mind N'Zonzi giving up.... half the fans and most of the better players did too. Or at least the more perceptive ones. The rest ambled along every fortnight like so many zombies to give their full support to the evil regime that was raping and plundering the club.

Better than giving up and accepting our fate though eh?

A bit harsh to get all holier than thou with people who didn't just use any excuse to stop going to Ewood, and carried on supporting the players wearing blue and white.

Do you really think that if Venky's do clear off and leave the club saddled with debt, all the boycotters will return? ?

I remain unconvinced.

I saw Rovers live around 25/30 times that season and when Nzonzi played our performance levels didn't really change with or without him, his attitude and application was poor throughout the season.

That's what I mean about him dividing opinion. I find yours pretty baffling but there you go, there were loads who rated him and those who didn't. We're not gonna compromise because nobody ever did with him, it was either one of the other.

Myles Anderson..............

btw my sources tell me that Myles was on 10k pw at Ewood! thats over 500,000 pa! Not hard to guess who was behind that scam is it?

If that is true, it is perhaps the most disgusting piece of news about the Rovers I have heard in all the time I've been supporting them.

Uncle Jack would turn in his grave.

Just for the record, checking the 'home nations' players today.

Looks like Arsenal had no Walcott or Oxlade Chamberlain today.

Started 3 home-nations, 4 French, 3 Germans, 1 Pole.

Stoke started 2 Ireland, 1 England, 1 Scotland and then, a very diverse mix.

-------

Cardiff starts 7, Craig Bellamy starting today.

Spurs start 4.

So, even though these aren't perfect figures, aren't that bad in my personal view. So, I guess, I should cheer on the Bluebirds.

Man Utd. 6 home nations, all England.

Joe Hart only for Man City.

Do I hell think that. I'm totally convinced that they wont. We are a second rate team now and no longer dining at the top table.

That was the writing that was on the wall when the stupid cow listened to advice from the greedy grabbing swindler and got rid of Allardyce and most of the board. This was commented on quite frequently like watching a car full of close relatives crashing in slow motion. Most with an once of foresight knew that we were going in one direction and that when we got there there would be go getting back. Don't forget most over 50's have seen BRFC in similar decline before.

Still at least the Facebook warriors and the boo boys behind the goals did get rid of Allardyce didn't they? So they'll be happy enough I assume.

10k per week.... let me see, might be a different generation but thats what we paid Shearer isn't it?

How delightful to see Moyes squirming today as his team were being pummeled by City. I would love to hear 70000 at the Theatre of Dreamers singing Moyes Out. Maybe Kean could come out and sympathise with him and castigate the fans.

The worrying aspect for the plastics is that City aren't exactly world beaters themselves. There isn't really a team in the Prem that can compare to previous Champions of the past decade.

I reckon City will get out of the group stages this time, but not much further.

Arsenal have the toughest group imo.

Anyway, United very poor today, City clinical. Chelsea looking average as well.

Not sure what Kagawa and Mata have to do to get a game respectively. Both sorely needed atm.
