 I reckon wee Stevie Kean was on the shortlist as well, alongside McLeish and Strachan. Loves the Scots does Fergie, absolutely loves them.

Steve McClaren can probably do a Scottish accent if that's what it takes...

He's got the hair, too. If the boggle-eyed one is out on his arse by Christmas and big Schteve McClaren has Derby pushing for promotion a quick call to Fergie in a Scottish accent could definitely do the trick.

He was assistant manager when they did the treble in 1999 (I think), so they have worked together. Stranger things have happened.

Correct, Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_UEFA_Champions_League_Final Famous final really.

...The match is best remembered for Manchester United scoring two last-minute goals in injury time to win 2–1, after having trailed for most of the match.[1][2]

United's victory was the culmination of their Treble-winning season,[3] after they had already won the FA Premier League[4] and the FA Cup[5] earlier in the month. Bayern were also playing for a Treble of their own, having already won the Bundesliga and earned a spot in the German Cup final; however, Bayern went on to lose in the final.[6]

Let's hope she doesn't look like her dad!

And let's be honest, Moyes would be more upset if it was Ryan Giggs doing it (again).

Definitely doesn't!

Today's gem, Moyes "insists that he's the right man for the job and reminds his critics that Sir Alex Ferguson chose him"

That's the same Ferguson who chose Eric Djemba Djemba as the successor to Roy Keane.

Agreed.

However, wouldn't football be better for all if the Karl Oyston mantra on agents be generally used?

Far too much influence, a major cause of disruption and a massive drain of financial resource. Scourge of the game IMO.

Absolutely but it needs all the managers to say that if footballers have agents they must pay them themselves.

How would that make any difference? The money all comes from the club anyway, it doesn't matter where the agent's cut is seen to be taken from.

I know they'll scrape a win but I'm making the most of it now.

Maybe if they had Ferguson, but they look absolutely awful now. This is Sunderland - bottom of the table, winless, managerless. Should be two up, really.

Ferguson didn't jack suddenly for a spot in the sun IMO.

No investment in the squad whatsoever and yet another share rights issue in the offing to the tune of £250 million.

The Glazers have already raped £750 million from The Plastics to support their failing businesses elsewhere.

I can't wait to see what the FA, Premier League and Murdoch's mob do and say about the impending disaster!

keaners the lot of em!

Adnan Januzaj looks like he's going to be one hell of a player. Will they let him slip away like they did with Pogba?

He certainly did well, have to look long term. I remember about 2, 3 years ago, Man Utd. had that Italian playmaker, saved their bacon a few times, now he's not to be found. Can't even remember his name but he did well for them. But sure, Januzaj certainly did it today. Take a bow Lad.

Now that I think about it, that Italian had a name like Machada, something like that? I think his goals won at least 2 matches for Man Utd. RVP looked a bit stuck today. I definitely class RVP as world class, no-brainer I guess.
