Paul Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Where's the toll bar? It's the traffic lights where the A674 Chorley Road, well Finnington Lane to be accurate, joins the road in from Riley Green, Walton Le Dale etc. Looks like Tockholes will be busy!!
ABBEY Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 I know , I've to pick my lad up at hogton and bro at abbey
Rover_Shaun Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 the road in from Riley Green, Walton Le Dale etc. It's called Preston Old Road
Ralfinho Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 anyone coming from Bolton way, do not use the A666. It is hell from 4 till about 8 and thats without Rovers playing. It has been a nightmare over the past month or so. I live in Darwen and I am heading back to Belmont then over Tockholes for tomorrows match.
Backroom Tom Posted August 21, 2012 Backroom Posted August 21, 2012 It's called Preston Old Road Is that bit not called Moulden Brow?
Paul Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It's called Preston Old Road As Ewoodace didn't know Toll Bar I thought the direction would help. It's Moulden Brow at Toll Bar, Preston Old Road starts half way to Feniscowles!! But yes a lot of local people might call it POR
Kiwiwannabe Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Anyone wanting to avoid the A666 in Darwen be warned that there are 3 way lights at the roundabout junction of Lower Eccleshill Road, Eccleshill Road & Greenbank Terrace. You also can't access Lower Eccleshill Road/Goose House Lane from A666 or vice versa from Hollins Grove Street. It has been fairly quiet around there this week, but football traffic could have an impact.
3rdpillar Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Keans excuse for poor attendance! "Traffic lights at the Fieldens" & "Shocking road works through Darwen", However the Road from Hull was completely clear." Remember you heard it first Here on BRFCS
Ste B Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I thought the Toll Bar was in Intack. Would be a heck of a traffic jam
broadsword Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 What's a "heads-up" ? I think that's a favour Steve Kean pays to Mrs Desai each time he sees her.
jim mk2 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 advice Sounds like American management-speak gobbledegook to me. The thread is a traffic warning so why not call it a Traffic Warning ?
AllRoverAsia Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Sounds like American management-speak gobbledegook to me. The thread is a traffic warning so why not call it a Traffic Warning ? Yes maybe comes from the Bush Junior years but maybe just from tossing a coin.
ABBEY Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Sounds like American management-speak gobbledegook to me. The thread is a traffic warning so why not call it a Traffic Warning ? You really are a pleb at times Jim ..

Backroom Tom Posted August 21, 2012 Backroom Posted August 21, 2012 You really are a pleb at times Jim .. Admin Can we have the +1 button back please Only joking Jim, I imagine it does originate from America but it is quite commonly used over here now

Backroom Tom Posted August 22, 2012 Backroom Posted August 22, 2012 For info there is also temporary lights on green lane as of today
Paul Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 We were late, forgot about 7.45 KOs. I thought I was pushing things but the woman in front was clearly practising for the Dakha across Tockholes!! Still we both got there - just.
DanLad Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Sounds like American management-speak gobbledegook to me. I thought it was a military or aviation phrase derived from a 'heads ups display'. I like Stephen Fry's thoughts on language that it is mutable and evolving rather than rigid and unchangeable. Apologies for going off topic, although I'd hope that the traffic has cleared by now?
