Commondore Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Just the type of player we need at this stage, which probably disqualifies this rumor from being true... Just for the sake of argument though, IF he came I wouldn't be opposed to using him in central midfield again as we still desperately lack legs and steel in that position.

Then we still don't have a left back and we're playing with him out of position. Etuhu looked good the other day too. I don't think this will happen anyway.
Stand & Deliver Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Hope it happens but doubt it will. How old is he these days?
vyeo Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 would be cracking if we could get him. even if we stick him out on the right, he would still be a better option than orr.
A cup of beans Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Hughes thought he was a left back Ince thought he was a midfielder i know who's judgement i trust Time has passed AJW. Mustve made you forget the amount of goals warnock was responsible for.
patrickvalery Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Time has passed AJW. Mustve made you forget the amount of goals warnock was responsible for. I'm glad its not just me who thinks this. The bloke got found out of position so often he was forced to make Hollywood slide tackles every 5 minutes. They always look good and the crowd love them. In the same way that you could compile great a highlights reel for Pedersen' spectacular strikes, you could do the same for Warnocks blocks and tackles. However, the flip side for Pedersen is ten times more poor corners, crosses, short passes, free kicks and wayward shots. For Warnock it'd be rash tackles in dangerous areas and conceded penalties. Given that he's what, 4 years older this time around, i'd say the chances of him recovering from poor positioning with a lung busting lunge etc... are even more remote. He'd be on big big wages too. No thanks.
Rovers_Dan Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 If anyone can sort his positioning out keans yer man!
Ricky Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 People need to remember that we're not in the top flight anymore. How poor did konchesky look at Liverpool compared to how impressive he's looked in the championship.
Majiball Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 If anyone can sort his positioning out keans yer man! Aye that's Keano's specialty!!! He's awesome at changing positioning, I've heard he even managed to change a clubs position by 10 places in 18 months!! Now that's talent.
Mercer Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I do not think Warnock would be a good bet even if he wanted to come and he certainly would want a huge part of the almost fifty grand a week he is reported to enjoy at Villa. He is a good pal of Brunskill but I very much doubt if Brunskill's opinion holds much sway at all.
Backroom Tom Posted September 21, 2012 Backroom Posted September 21, 2012 Gone to Bolton on loan Good solid signing
Backroom DE. Posted September 21, 2012 Backroom Posted September 21, 2012 Warnock's good enough for the Championship, but he's nothing special. Martin Olsson, for all his defensive flaws, isn't any worse of an option.
bluebruce Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Olsson is much better as a winger though. I'd have liked to see us loan Warnock, so we can push Olsson to the wing. He's versatile too.
