I don't know who is responsible for our scouting now but, IMO, we don't half come up with some cr@p.

Old Carr at Newcastle is still one of the best in the business. There are still bargains out there like Swansea's Michu who cost 2 millionish and averages 1 in 4 in a second striker / in the hole role.

And we keep banging on about Rhodes for 6 or 7 million whose only success is in the old Third division.

Just about sums up the state of our club.

We aren't looking for our ten millionth second striker/in the hole player though. Thankfully.

when I said many clubs, I meant european wide. Clubs in Italy and Spain have a director of football with a head coach.

Probably 3 clubs in the premiership have a system like that. WBA, Spurs and Chelsea.

Yes of course they do. It's been like that abroad for decades and some clubs have tried it over here. The coach will have a say in who's signed though, unlike Ewood. That's the whole point.

Campbell was desperately poor in the PL game at Ewood last season.

Was that after being out injured for 6 months though? He did well for Hull in the championship - 15 goals, 10 assists in 34 games

If we,re after either Wickham or Campbell, I hope either of them are the second of the two strikers Nicko claims we are after as neither of those enthuse me particularly.

Campbell especially.

This clearly isn't the player he was referring to throughout the day. How can you say he's not very good?? He went to Sunderland with a very good reputation. Just hasn't worked out for him in the top flight....yet.

I think he's backtracked a bit from his earlier stance. There is no mention of the player being at brockhall yesterday either.

We'll see who's right soon I guess. Nicko or Glen......... Fight!!!!!!!!

Frazier Campbell available for £3m from Sunderland, with 1 year left on his contract - Hull & Us interested.

Rather take him & Guidetti on loan than Rhodes to be honest...especially at £6-7m

IMO, the lad has never recovered from that knee injury.

Has lost that physical, and perhaps mental, sharpness.

Even with modern day techniques, cruciates are horrific and very, very few get back to anything like they used to be.

Guidetti has had serious interest from all over, we're talking midtable to top clubs in Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland... I'd be happy, but COMPLETELY mystified, if he decides a year on loan in the Championship is the right way to go.

According to this site

thesimpleball.worldpress.com

it could be three months before Guidetti is fully fit or he might even never get back to what he was.

Brill post....completely agree. Whether he got things right or wrong doesnt really matter. He used his own time to contribute and i loved the 11 o'clockers and took it all with a pinch of salt.

Bang tidy post that one ;-)

If anyone else claims to be itk and talks a load of crap then he gets slated and rightly so. Why is it different for this guy. Just because he writes for the mirror?

Might have something to do with his agents being part of Kentaro!
