rigger Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I would suggest less twitter, more training. Quote
Waggy76 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 He is not good enough , but one can hardly blame him for wanting to leave the circus ! Quote
onlyonejackwalker Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 If Goodwillie is the answer then I am not sure what the question is. When pointing the finger, it is worth remembering that three fingers point straight back at you. Maybe watching his diet, getting 100% fit and avoiding late night brawls would have done his chances more good at the Rovers. When you think of the great strikers we have enjoyed watching at Rovers this last decade or so, to be lumbered with this classless fool is testimony to where the club is up to at this time, downsizing quality in all areas. Let him go, he won't be missed. Quote
yoda Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 He is not good enough , but one can hardly blame him for wanting to leave the circus ! its the circus ringmaster that should go Quote
T4E Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 He's good enough to get goals at this level, and thats all we need from him right now. Quote
Cocker Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I feel sorry for him to be honest. He hasn't been given any chance at all to show what he can do. Fergie says of Rooney he needs to play games to get into the swing of things maybe the same can be said of Goodwillie (before anyone says I am by no means comparing the two). Its not just him I feel this way about. People like Rochina and Formica should count themselves in the same space. After a run of 5 straight games if they are still not ticking by all means slate them but they just don't get a real chance to show what they are made of. Quote
yoda Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 like i said, its the ringmaster that needs to go its the circus ringmaster that should go He's good enough to get goals at this level, and thats all we need from him right now. Quote
J*B Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I'd suggest getting wammo'd with Hanley on Saturday night probably had an effect. ###### professional, ###### player. Quote
J*B Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Its not "verified" but other players have confirmed it. Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 The guy has played in the spl. Has some prem league experience and has an international cap scoring against the world cup holders... Yet an 18 yr old nomark striker from the lower portuguese leagues (even kean made a living over there!)starts league and cup games ahead of him. Id be brassed off as well. Not saying he's the answer up front but by christ he should start ahead of edhino. Quote
Bennisfromheaven Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I had a look through his pictures on the twitter account, anyone else see the Dominos feast he went through on May 6th?? around about the time we were being relegated!! must have been comfort eating!! I would like to see goodwillie get a run in the side & show what he can do but the guy seems to be missing the point here, you can have all the talent in the world but without dedicating every second of your life to being the best player you can be you are wasting your opportunity!! seanc88 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I'd suggest getting wammo'd with Hanley on Saturday night probably had an effect. ###### professional, ###### player. When did that happen? Quote
Backroom Tom Posted August 29, 2012 Backroom Posted August 29, 2012 In his last two sub appearances he has scored and made chances where as the lad that started has done nothing at all Let's see who starts Saturday but wouldn't be surprised if its still Edinho Quote
onlyonejackwalker Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Saturday night. The drinking culture prevelant at our club is disgraceful and totally unprofessional. Respect needs to be earnt, as do salaries. Givet, Goodwillie, Hendry and Kean to name a few. Who else that we do not know about? Quote
donnermeat Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Givet, really? Excuse my ignorance, genuine question. Goodwillie is better than Edinho. Quote
Backroom Tom Posted August 29, 2012 Backroom Posted August 29, 2012 Got done for drink driving didn't he? Quote
donnermeat Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Ah right yeh slipped my mind. Apologies. Quote
John Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 With Kean and Hendry regarded as big drinkers and in poor shape themselves, hardly a good example to be set by management -- feel sorry for Eric Black who is one of the more normal members of staff we have behind the scenes. Quote
T4E Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Givet doesnt surprise me, I once played roulette with him in a casino in Manchester, he was chucking £50 notes away like he'd wiped his arse on them. I say playing, I spent most of the time watching and threw in the occasional fiver. They are a squad of young lads, supressing them would be counter active. What is needed is a manager who stands a level above them and they have respect for. He can decide where to draw the line - rather than being the ring leader. Can anyone seriously remember another Premier League manager being done for drink driving?! Quote
John Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Can anyone seriously remember another Premier League manager being done for drink driving?! Along with that, the Germany incident with a Sky Sports reporter (drunk again). The pi**ed up video when he claimed top 10 finish and a trophy. These are just the stories we know about too. He is a first rate chancer who is taking the mick remaining in his role. Edited August 29, 2012 by John Quote
T.J.Newton Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Theirs some narrow minded hypocrites on here, some of the comments above slating Goodwillie are pathetic and completely non-football related, hes just a young lad whos been in a few scrapes when he was playing in Scotland, since moving here hes been as professional as any other young footballer, and when he gets game time he usual looks dangerous and lively(or at least more so than any other centre forward we have!), there is no reason on earth why Ediniho was picked ahead of him it was a totally disrespectful decision by scumbag kean(which is where all the blame should be going).
