Howler Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 All clubs have morons in their support. I've sat in the home/away crowds of a number of other teams and I assure you that our fans behave better than most of them. Most of the time I get banter from my mates about how placid our support is...

ABBEY Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Lost all interest , don't jump up when we score .kean and venkys are killing the club and fans spirit haddock and I hate them and I personally can't sing or back anything these tie rags do . Haddock ha you gotta love spell check
Stand & Deliver Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Even for the team? Why don't you take one for the team and (Please don't use that word again) off
rovers_rob Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 II went to Leeds on Saturday and it was the first away game I have been to in a while. I have been reading comments on this mb about trouble so I was a bit worried but I shouldn't have been. It was a good atmosphere and the fans were superb. I didn't see any trouble whatsoever. You will always get isolated incidents but that should not take away the fact that the majority of the fans were well behaved and they were 100% supporting the team. I listened to the phone in on radio 5 and a Leeds fan even commented about how good the rovers fans were as well.

Haddock ha you gotta love spell check How thoroughly depressing. If you can't even back your own club then you might as well give up. ABBEY Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Got naff all to do with you whether I go or not.
braddock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Got naff all to do with you whether I go or not. Indeed, but given this is a forum it would have been rare if nobody commented on a person who no longer even celebrated goals that the club they supported scored.
ABBEY Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Yea but I still come and post win lose or draw . You just troll when we have a good result !!
AndyC Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Indeed, but given this is a forum it would have been rare if nobody commented on a person who no longer even celebrated goals that the club they supported scored. Unfortunately he's not the only one. I find it hard to get excited when we score goals now. And I've been a fan for 30 years. I feel as though I'm just waiting to wake up from a very long bad dream. It's not the relegation that bothers me so much - we've been there before afterall. It's the systematic destruction of everything our club has stood for . It's always been about the community and that's the single biggest thing that the Venkys regime has decimated.
braddock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Yea but I still come and post win lose or draw . You just troll when we have a good result !! I don't really take this whole messageboard thing overly serious though. I have other things to do rather than revel in grief. Fair play to those who take the messageboard seriously as it has the potential to be a useful tool (and often is), but I don't have the time in my life to be on here all year around. I go to the games win, lose or draw (providing I'm in the country, and that's 99% of the time.
blue_and_white Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 It's the general point Abbey, not picking on you lot in particular. In fact it was more a Darwen Enders as instigators of that particular 'we're the best fans' thing. I heard a lot of them say things like that and that they were real fans because they sang more etc... It's been going on for ages but now is plumbing new depths. Having been involved in starting up the singing end over there at the start of 09/10, the only thing we were trying to do is get a section of fans together who were a bit more positive towards the players and Big Sam than some in the B'Burn End often were at the time. I don't think anyone who's been there from that first season thinks we're in any way better than other fans. Of course since then the protest group, away fan groups and B'burn Enders have moved over so they might think differently. But its definitely not a general opinion of fans over there. As for the hassle at away games, thats just the same argument thats been replayed in most Rovers conversations since Kean and Venkys took over. Do you ignore them or do you give them stick? Both arguments are valid, think some fans just need to learn how to deal with others having a different opinion to them.
Rover_Shaun Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Is it beyone reason to think that the club are paying morons to travel on their coaches in order to make trouble?

Gav Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Is it beyone reason to think that the club are paying morons to travel on their coaches in order to make trouble? I'm not buying that one, they're guilty of many things but putting plants in the crowd, thats just laughable for me.
philipl Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Is it beyone reason to think that the club are paying morons to travel on their coaches in order to make trouble? I doubt they would be so stupid as to put the payments through the club.
braddock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I doubt they would be so stupid as to put the payments through the club. Cash in hand. IT MUST BE TRUE.
Mattyblue Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Like Ste B, I've gone on the Ewood Blues coaches for many a year. What you need to remember is that a lot of their travellers (and a good percentage of fans in general) don't go on brfcs.com, don't know much about Anderson, Kean's alleged treachery and so on, they just 'get behind the lads'. They don't think Kean should be manager, but he's here, they've little time for Venky's, but they're here as well. So, 'you just get on with it.' The fanbase will never unite at least until that man is removed.

I listened to the phone in on radio 5 and a Leeds fan even commented about how good the rovers fans were as well. I have to admit I don't get to many away matches but when I have done, I've never seen any bother with the Rovers supporters. What if we all paused to think about whether or not there really is a serious ‘division’ problem amongst the fans? I’ve been sat in the middle of the Blackburn End through the whole sorry Venky’s tenure and, whilst I’ve heard about fan fall outs, as I’m sure we all have, I’ve never actually seen one. Not one. Some of the guys I sit with didn’t agree with me joining marches at times during last season but we certainly didn’t fall out about it. What if the extent of these fan spats has been exaggerated somewhat and people are being sucked in by the hype? Blokes fall out every week in town centres – isn’t that just a reflection of the sad state of our society? I can’t help but ask myself, ‘Who would it benefit to embellish and inflate these stories of fan in-fighting, I wonder? And I wonder if a certain portly gentleman and spin doctor friend are pleased to be reading this thread?’
Paul Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Never seen any trouble involving Rovers fans at any away game in 30 odd years. I've read a lot of reports re trouble towards the end of last and the beginning of this season. Like ED I think there is a certain amount of embellishment to these reports and I'm unsure why.
braddock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Well I have seen a few fallouts (not many) at home games, though to be honest, my position at top tier front row means I can see a lot of fans below so I may see more than some others and as mentioned earlier in the thread I've witnessed a young man spit on a woman. Those individual events aren't enough to say it's widespread of course, but given the general mood of the fans last season (can't speak of this season as I haven't been yet), and then reports of people looking for trouble, I can't say I'll be looking to go to any away games this season given how polarised I am from many fans already. It just isn't worth it to me. I don't want to go somewhere and have to make sure I don't say something wrong when I know my opinions aren't offensive or oppressive. Home games is a different matter.
Parsonblue Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Is it beyone reason to think that the club are paying morons to travel on their coaches in order to make trouble? This conspiracy stuff is getting beyond a joke. Have you travelled on the official coaches this season and witnessed this for yourself? I travel on them all the time and there are rarely any problems on the official coaches.

Not a sign of any 'incidents' with Leeds fans either, which was a bit of a surprise cos there are usually one or two lairy ones. Incidentally, there was a fair bit of humour too as one of the locals paraded along Elland Road where we could see (towards the end of the first half I think) to chants of 'one scruffy b-----d' etc and lapped it up.

Is that significant?
braddock Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Is that significant? Yes, I can see every fan in the bottom tier, minus the back few rows. It's a better position that someone in the middle of a stand who can only see a certain amount around them. edit - I can certainly see them well enough if they are being seperated or are finger wagging at each other, for example (but I'm not bothering with finger wagging here as it's not too serious. I'm more referring to people being escorted out or actually making physical contact with each other).
Rover_Shaun Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I wasn't saying the club are paying idiots to travel and target protestors. Just saying is it beyond reason to think they would If the answer is no then there's no need for the usual BRFCS histrionics
